Spike: Heard what happened up top, offing your dad and all. Don't know if you know this, but, uh…I killed my mum. Actually, I'd already killed her, and then she tried to shag me, so I had to-- Wesley: Thank you. I'm…very comforted.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Yucky weather out. I did the grocery run earlier, and I'm not sure what was more fun, the trudge back to my car in the ice/slush, or having a big sheet of ice slide down my back windshield into the trunk when I was putting the groceries in there. (Answer: neither)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

You might try one of those nail polish pens just to touch up the edges with minimal smell or mess.

Lost two attempts at posting! Super short version: Crappy roads = tomorrow's stew is now tonight's dinner instead because no takeout, and I am internally whiny about it. Brat.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Aw, JenP, not a brat!

All of the local ferries are on the severe weather schedule, which for us means a boat every two hours instead of 35 minutes, unless they can't get enough crew to the dock to meet Coast Guard regs, in which case the sailing's cancelled.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

You know, I really thought the Senate might do better this time.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

It's infuriating, but it was a (mostly) foregone conclusion. I'm genuinely shocked that 7 Republicans voted on something nearer to principle than cravenness.

Punishingly Intricate

I knew they wouldn't do better but it's still depressing.

Punishingly Intricate

And infuriating.

It’s weird that I can be pleasantly surprised that 7 voted to convict and also be so angry and disappointed at the rest, but there it is.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Seriously frustrating and infuriating. I mean, good on the 7 who voted in favor. Boo on the other 43 who mostly just refused to even pay attention because they made their decision January 7th.
