Sir? I think you have a problem with your brain being missing.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I spent a significant amount of time yesterday trying to find that super adorbs kitten filter with no success. Orange tabby on the head, sure, but no fluffy white kitten.

There are people here with strong opinions re nail polish, yes? Because I am in a compulsive phase wrt my fingernails lately and could use some guidance from pros who aren't trying to sell me something via youtube.

Not usually one for putting anything on my fingernails, but got sucked into one of those FB "parties" where the host is joining the pyramid scheme and I could "help" her by trying a free sample...and I did...then of course I liked the effect and purchased three sets of ColorStreet nail strips which are great in that they are actual nail polish and stick to the nails and then come off with polish remover, but annoying in that the base trim is never *quite* right for my nail beds and then there is a gap and then it grows out and the ledge effect annoys me and....well....it's not perfect. But heck, I'm mostly working from home and can spend some extra time and $$ on something entirely frivolous. So there has been much experimenting by me of trying to make them "just right." I'm failing.

Standard nail polish would eliminate the "not filling the entire nail bed" issue, but I can't use that stuff since it STINKS. The nail polish strips have some stink to them too, but not so much (as they arrive mostly dry) and it dissipates pretty quick.

Are there any nail polishes out there that don't stink? And aren't, like, absolutely terrible for our bodies and the environment? Does such a thing exist? Or I'll just ride this phrase of compulsion until i'm back to being happy with my regular short bare nails that don't require any special effort and just do the job of protecting my fingertips.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm sorry, Gris.

Oh, flea, I'm so excited to see your puppy pictures. Newfie puppies are adorable, but I hope you won't need a bib for the drooling.

Anyone noticed that their "dealing with other people" muscles are atrophied? I've been spending a lot more time in meetings the last week or so (bcz of the new position) and it's bizarrely exhausting compared to just sitting and working all day. Also I think telecons are just harder than in-person meetings because of the cross-talk and so forth: you have to concentrate a lot more or you lose track.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm in video meetings all day and it's freaking exhausting. Way moreso than in-person meetings. I only do phone calls one-on-one anymore, so I kind of forget what conference calls were like.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm sorry, Gris.

All kinds of meetings are exhausting to me. I think I'm more nervous in the face-to-face ones than the zoom or phone type.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Gris, I'm sorry.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Welp, we're back in lockdown here. Hopefully just for the five days. We've had a small outbreak of the UK variant escape quarantine, currently 13 people diagnosed. I imagine local restaurants are going to be very unhappy to miss the Valentine's Day crowd, not to mention Chinese New Year. (We had to cancel a D&D session too, which was a shame.)

Our wings are not tired.

Anyone noticed that their "dealing with other people" muscles are atrophied?

So much.

I'm sorry, billytea, and at the same time I really wish my officials would take it so seriously.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I’ve seen a hawk outside my window for two days in a row! Maybe he’s a long-term resident.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Pictures or it didn't happen.
