I find Emily Nussbaum confusing: was she a Buffista actually? Or maybe just Buffista-adjacent? Because when ita died someone (I forget who) told her, and her reaction was on the order of, "I don't know that person but I'm sorry for your loss."

EmilyN posted at Table Talk early on but she was already gone, I think, by the time we really coalesced as a community. So it’s not that surprising that she wouldn’t have remembered ita/buffistas 15 years later. That’s my sense of things, anyway. She was gone before I was around.
ION we’re getting a puppy tomorrow and I’m a little overwhelmed. I feel like I’m the only one being realistic about how much work she is going to be. (10 weeks or so, maybe chocolate lab/Newfoundland, mostly black with a white front like our #1 cat, cute, enormous, baby.)

Mine, meanwhile, may have an infection in his incision from neuter surgery :( sent a photo to the vet and they said to pick up antibiotics tomorrow and if it gets worse call them. Nooo! (He’s acting perfectly fine)
