We get that, they call it Total Compensation and it is extremely irritating

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
The BBC used to do that as an incredibly passive-aggressive way of defending our pitiful salaries. (I mean they probably still do, just not to me anymore since I haven't worked there in 6 years.)
Is it staffed by three Capital One cards in a trenchcoat?
Ha!
I think it's very funny that we have a Supply Team and a Demand Team and wish to pit them against each other in a tug of war to determine pricing, but that is actually handled by an entirely different department
Hee!
It is, somehow, still snowing.
Timelies all!
Well, we survived a virtual school day for Mr. S without the nanny.(She apparently went out of town, and wouldn't be back until the time she would pick him up at school) There were a couple of classes where he wasn't paying attention to the screen, but it went well over all.

Hah!

I am pretty sure this is the reason at my workplace as well. However, since there is virtually no other jobs in my area, I am not sure where else we would be working that didn't pay less. Maybe a state university, but it is hard to get a job there.
That's great, Sheryl. It is hard enough for adults to pay attention to the screen for any length of time.
Also, hopefully people can't track me, but before COVID 19 we had such a challenge filling positions with competent people because they are so low paying (and called Administrative Assistants even though they are running programs). All of the sudden, we have some really competent people.
But now we have a VP of People, a Director of People, and People programs and it all sounds weird
Oy.
I was on a call the other day and someone started talking about “Becky from HR” and it really took me a bit to process that it wasn’t social commentary, it was an actual person.
