All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's supposed to rain all day today. I should've run yesterday when it was sunny, but I faffed around instead.

Matilda's baseball team won both games this week, including a 15-13 slugfest yesterday. She had a bases clearing single that brought in three, and played well.

She's busy hyping up her teammates (or getting on them for poor effort or focus), chatting up the opposing team and looking after the umpires. She's really shown great leadership as co-Captain.

She's also been mentoring some Sophomore boys who keep telling her how much they'll miss her next year.

We still don't have anything in place for next year except a grab bag of intent: Travel, some classes at City College (Spanish, art...), getting a job, applying to college.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

shrift and lisah, my condolences. I'm sorry. {{}}

Epic, darling, big hugs. I'm sorry for the news. Lots of strength and good news~ma.

Also just general good news~ma to all here. Most of us could use some.

Next week there's a planned mass protest around the parliament (Knesset) for 3 full days. We'll see how it goes.

ION, I plan to spend part of the weekend in continuing planning the travel, because a. someone needs to do it and that someone is apparently me, and b. ESTA paperwork requires me to give them an address of where I'm planning to stay, so I better understand where that address is. This is also the time to mention that I was in the US a decade ago, so a bunch of friends are currently supporting me in the process of adjusting what I very vaguely remember about flying and technology adjustments ("wait, I can get a local data card here? And oh right, there's WhatsApp and Google Maps now!"). I don't travel internationally much.

Anyhow, if you're on the East Coast, Seattle or SF and want to meet and didn't mention it until now, now is the time. I know I'm planning it pretty poorly because most of my attention is currently here, so apologies for that. My current MO is sending emails to people in specific locations and see who wants to meet where and when.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm so looking forward to seeing you, Shir!

I've managed to write out three checks and get them in envelopes and stamps. I shall step out into the rain and mail them shortly.

I'm resentful I can't pay these online like a normal 21st century business process.

That may be the outer limit of my productivity today aside from picking up a prescription.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I made TWO appointments today. Over the phone.

"I yam what I yam and that's all what I yam," -- Popeye

...three checks...envelopes...stamps...mail....

Although I had a bad experience with certified mail last year, I still think it is worthwhile if you are sending anything related to payments or legal processes by mail.

DH came home from the hospital yesterday, and all is well. Thanks, Universe.

I finally succumbed to the FB advertising and bought one of those heated air straightening/curling things. My hair is stick straight, and I used to hot roller the hell out of it in the 80s. I've always wanted wavy/curly hair.

Anyway, about 10 minutes later, and voila! I didn't do it the way the cool kids do today... sort of leaving the spiral mostly intact, but on-purpose mussed, which I like but also don't quite know how to do yet. But still, curls! Fun.

Long week. Looking forward to weekend. I have lunch with a NEW friend tomorrow. I don't make a lot of those, so that's pretty exciting. Tonight, I order in. I'm betting we watch a movie, too.

What are people up to this weekend? You people, that is.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh, fun with hair! Enjoy.

I just finished getting my nails done. Have to post a picture. Took my MIL out to dinner after that. Tomorrow I have a memorial for a friend. Sunday I want to nap. Maybe on the beach. Somewhere in there I really need to clean my house but I have to figure out where I am going to get the energy for that. I miss doing the Easter baskets I used to do for the boys even when they were adults.

I miss getting an Easter basket. I'd probably miss giving them to my kids if I'd ever had kids. In short, Easter baskets are fun.

Our wings are not tired.

They are fun. Hiding them was a big thing in my family.
