the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

DH going in this morning to get a pseudocyst and the tail of pancreas + spleen removed.

That seems really efficient -- just get them all in one fell swoop.

Fun fact: It's the same surgeon who saved my bacon with the final surgery that put everything right for me at last back in 2020. Couldn't be in better hands in both of our opinions.

That kind of reassurance is awesome.

Our wings are not tired.

Sending the effective surgery and rapid recovery ~ma in abundance.

HD has gone to see a urologist (Finally!) this morning, but somehow managed twice already to go in the wrong direction and not find the place. He will be a half hour late, and of course, wants to cancel, but I told him just show up because they are always late anyway. I used my sternest voice so we'll see if it happens. eta: I just checked my app and his car is parked at the doctor's office.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

well, we had an outbreak of covid in my office - I'm not sure if I got hit with that, but I spent all last week sick - runny nose, cough, generally not feeling well. I did a test last night and it came back negative, so I'm grateful for that. Would have preferred to skip it, but it happened. Meanwhile, it's cold outside, so I bundled up warm, since I have a lot to catch up on.

Best to all here and hope things go well.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I hope you're on the mend, Toddson.

Matilda woke up feeling congested and gunky but no fever.

Good vibes appreciated.

Easy-peasey, routine procedure -ma!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Y'all!

It’s Monday so obvs I don’t wanna work. I was gonna just put my audiobook on, but it’s a light romance and they’re ending a date, so spiciness or semi-spicy language afoot. NOW my boss just announced she’d be out for the rest of the day with all the other managers!!! Do I just close my door and play my book?

I can’t just be on my phone for the rest of the day because nosy Nellie sits in a cube outside my office and she is up and down from her seat every 10 minutes or so.

"You should never say bad things about the dead, only good… Joan Crawford is dead. Good.” —Bette Davis

Happy to report no food poisoning after eating at the Indian buffet yesterday! (I'd come down with it the previous two times, and took a break of a couple years.) I tried new-to-me dishes like bhindi masala, broccoli pakora, and wok-tossed cauliflower as well as old favorites like butter chicken and gulab jamun. All ranged from tasty to delicious, no duds among the selection.

I also employed a brief moment of productivity Sunday to hang solar string lights along the roof edge of the outbuilding behind my outdoor patio area: [link]

Our wings are not tired.

Nice, Matt. Both on the happy belly, and the lovely lights.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm meeting with Lola and her husband this morning at 11 to try to prepare them for her cancer care and give them some sense of what they're facing.

It's making me a little anxious. That's going to be a difficult talk.
