Jayne: That's a good idea. Good idea. Tell us where the stuff's at so I can shoot you. Mal: Point of interest? Offering to shoot us might not work so well as an incentive as you might imagine.

I was thinking maybe it was ulcerative colitis and she had to have a big chunk of intestines removed and maybe an ostomy bag. But wow.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

My good friend had uterine cancer that was discovered due to fibroid surgery. In her case a much quicker resolution.

Still agog at how terribly they’ve managed all this, and how shitty a person Wills is proving to be. But a ton of empathy to Kate and the kids.

We’re kind of reeling in my family today due to the terrorist attack in Moscow. My brother-in-law Sergei was at the concert and happened to leave about 10 minutes ahead of the attack.

And in a separate post: she does not have the time to check the board these days, but I wanted to let you all know that Nilly's eldest will have his Bar Mitzvah soon. He'll be reading Book of Esther this Sunday/Monday.

It's an extra joy to bring good news to this board, after announcing mostly bad news in the past six months.

1000% what I needed to hear today. Mazel Tov!

Our wings are not tired.

My brother-in-law Sergei was at the concert and happened to leave about 10 minutes ahead of the attack.

Eeep! That was too close for comfort.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Holy crap, brenda, that is scary!

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Man, brenda, that's terrifying.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Relieved to hear that Sergei left the concert in time, Brenda.

(edited to add: might be a good time to remind folks that a. tetris is a wonderful tool during super stressful times, and b. no need to watch the videos.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, yikes, brenda. Glad he's ok!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Mazel Tov to Nilly's son!

Oy, this week. Mr. S had major meltdowns at school Mon.,Tues. and Wed. I had to leave work a bit early Monday because he wouldn't go with the nanny. Gary was at a business meeting that included dinner, so I brought Mr. S home and we ordered pizza. Things were going ok until I noted he had been in the bathroom 45 minutes. He came out of the bathroom and starting attacking me. He was hitting, kicking, pushing me around and pulling my hair a lot. Eventually we got Gary on the phone and that calmed things down a bit(It helped that he was on his way home) I have a big bruise and some scrapes on my right forearm that I'm sure is due to the attack.

Tuesday he eventually went with the nanny. Wednesday he had a room-trashing meltdown, and the school wrote a referral to the local crisis center. Gary took him there after dinner, and he had a meltdown that led to an er visit. Luckily they got back that night. Thursday had no meltdowns, and neither did today.

We're trying to find resources to help him and us, especially now that he has an official diagnosis of being on the autism spectrum. It's just really hard.
