Tomorrow I'm going to a celebration of life/wake for a friend who had a HUGE impact on my life - he was one of the original founders of the national vampire LARP group, and if I hadn't joined, I wouldn't have ended up working at Wizards of the Coast and thus meeting my husband.
However, there's a good chance a former friend who nuked our friendship (a thing he has done to other people, it's a pattern) will probably there. I plan on being cordial and polite to him, but it's going to be interesting to see how he treats me and everyone else he's done this to.
Vibing hard for you smonster!
Oh yes, time to make travel arrangements. I’m trying to figure out the span of dates and hopefully where people are staying. That venue looks so right.
I'm realizing this is sort of like planning a wedding but in reverse.
💯 % this.
Oh, and I have my colonoscopy referral ready to go. My doctor suggested waiting a little bit since my insurance changed at the beginning of year but now I think it’s about time to get scheduling.
I hope it doesn't get too interesting, Atropa. Wakes, in my opinion, do not need extra added drama.
I have been doing the at home test periodically, which I still think is a really weird thing to do/be able to do (not least because of the whole sending biohazards through the mail part), but certainly better than doing the whole icky drink and actual procedure thing. Clean bill of health every time so far.
It wasn't exactly easy, but getting scoped would be my personal cruciamentum so, good enough atm.
Timelies all!
This has not been a good week. Mr. S had another major meltdown yesterday which included pulling the fire alarm. He's broken a number of pieces of school equipment(mostly Chromebooks). Gary's meeting with the principal on Monday. Sigh.
So...to make my week complete, a girl at Matilda's school has been harassing her, spreading lies about her (you know the kind of lies teenage girls tell) and it's making Matilda's life even more stressed out. She was just talking to her therapist this week about how to deal with her panic attacks.
Apparently one of the girls on the group chat has turned in all of the harassing girls messages, including the fact that she's lying.
Which means I'm going to request a meeting with school officials on Monday, meeting with this girl's parents and go over the legal definition of defamation, with a side order of Cyberbullying.
We'll see how her parents feel about that.
Poor Matilda, and you! I'm grateful that my boys didn't have to deal with social media issues but just the usual high school crap.
I'll have you all in my heart, especially you, Matilda and Emmett, David. But I won't be able to be there, I regret. I'm sure it will be spirit-lifting and wonderful. It sounds absolutely lovely.
