Wow, really?Do tell. That's weird, though. She gives the impression of turning on her TV for debates or something, but I guess that's not true.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
(I should have said *only* for debates and such. Because I have watched that stuff, too, clearly. But lots of other things, too, only some of which I'm pleased to talk about. I know you feel me on that.)

She was praising Homicide saying it was the greatest police procedural of all time.
I said, "I presume you haven't seen The Wire, also by David Simon, but better."
To which she got kinda sniffy and said, "Of course I've seen the Wire!"
Really? I would never have guessed that in a billion years.(Kind of makes me want to chuckle in the way that it does when Jeopardy contestants end up saying stuff like "Talk to the hand," or something like that.) "The Wire" is better in some ways, but is also a massive investment that I'm glad I made then because I'm not sure I'd have it now.(Absolutely worth....well, maybe not *every* instant...I've thought about it a lot, after all. But, you know, mostly. )Though in some ways, I gotta admit, the journalism season didn't quite come off. I'd love for someone to really explore why reporters fake it. Who knew when I was pondering the correct usage of evacuate then that Simon and I would know each other, however slightly? Although even my vague concept of networking didn't really survive virtual proximity, even if I didn't know that trying it on the wrong day might lead to me clutching something vital and slinking away in shame. Which might be the real reason he gets mistaken for David Chase and asked about that finale instead of his. Anyway...

She has a well earned reputation as a rather gothy literary writer, but almost half of her books (and some of her best esteemed) are gritty portraits of cities and working class lives.
The weirdest part is, that I could never network off what (probably) decided that follow. Because it's, like, everything that "Seeking Employment While Disabled" told me not to do. Because some RW asked if I had brain damage and I said "Well, yes, actually. But not how you think." (Maybe Larry David might have also enjoyed that.) But it is nice to know that I didn't *completely* make up that we share some sensibilities even if my real mother isn't always amused when I watch the news and speculate about what happens in pols' mothers' houses. I can see why people might give Best to Homicide cause you don't need background to follow it.(and, well, Kay Howard's on it.)
Hi, been skipping and skimming. Sending lawyer~ma to David and get out Get Out GET OUT~ma to Kristin’e dude.
meara, when? Because I have a ton of cleaning to do this weekend and would love to chat while doing some of it.
Also - I am applying for a job back in NC and am scrambling to get my resume together; anyone might have the time and bandwidth to read the job description and a roughs draft of my resume Thursday night/Friday morning?
Smonster that sounds good to me! I have no real plans Saturday daytime right now other than baking something for a friend—I’ll text you.

She's also published in Ellery Queen pretty frequently.

Interesting!
Holy Schmao, I checked the tank on my Executive Function and it's very low.
I had to lash myself to get a check in the mail (one of three that need to go out, but this one could not be late), text my contractor to deal with an issue at Emmett's apartment, unload the dishwasher, and then load it again.
I'm feeling kind of down right now and don't want to deal with any fucking thing. But fucking things keep requiring my adult attention.
