I hate healthcare in this country

It's totally fucky!

I got a dental implant earlier today (small ow), and I can never get over the fact that teeth, which are a part of the human body, are not included in health insurance, but have to have their own separate insurance, like adding a rider for my jewelry to our homeowner's insurance. Teeth are not separate luxuries, damn it. They are literally PART OF THE HUMAN BODY. There's no separate pancreas insurance, or spine insurance. Utter madness.

Seriously, how is don’t walk into disabled people such a hard concept for so many people?

Teppy, I heard some comedian make a joke recently about “when did we decide that teeth and eyes weren’t part of the body?” In terms of needing separate insurance coverage.

Teeth, eyes, and ears....so dumb. Whole healthcare system, so dumb. Private equity getting into healthcare, not just dumb but evil. Ugh.

I am grumpy because I managed to apply for a job Monday afternoon, which I am perfect for--which is to say, I could easily see not being hired for it, but I should at least get an interview. And yet it's been almost TWO DAYS and they have not requested an interview. What is their PROBLEM? OBVIOUSLY they are dumb. (....or I'm impatient, or I've been screened out by their system accidentally and they don't even KNOW I'm the right candidate)

Ears, too. So anyone needing a hearing aid is fucked. And since a majority of their patients are likely seniors, they're fucked, too.

Same with eyes! Millions of people need eyewear but senior citizens, who are highly likely to need readers or beyond, are not covered by Medicare for glasses.

Different rant (since everybody's in the mood): Would it actually kill people to take a glance over their email or Teams/Webex message before they click send?? I shouldn't have to spend 5 times as much time as you spent composing the message determining what you *meant* to say out of the clues of what you actually *did* say!

So much. I just got a bill today from Quest because DH's PCP sent out his test for flu and related stuff and my co-pay was $458. !!! We could have told them he had the flu.
