See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

If he helped develop Sims did he know JZ friend who passed who did sims voice?

I don't know, but I'm definitely going to ask.

They have two youngish kids and they are already planning a big garden, so, as weird and painful as it is, they're also the best possible new owners to pass it along to: they love it already, and they seem like the kind of people who will love the things my dad loved about it. My aunt was warning me against posting pictures of the deer in the backyard to FB because it would drive down the value of the house, but I always thought that anyone who didn't think they were awesome wouldn't be the right person for it anyway.

Side note: The first night after the second dose, I had full-on fever and chills, and the next day I had to lie down and take three separate naps, but today everything feels completely fine.

This was my friend's experience with her second shot, as well. Not sure which she had.

In good news, Casper’s friend is going home from the psych ward tomorrow, much earlier than initially planned. In bad news, Casper is still lying to me about completing and turning in assignments, going so far as to turn in a blank document so the interface I can see showed it was turned in. I am so tired.

Oh, Casper. But, oh, I am so glad her friend is going home and that she's being a good true friend, which maybe matters more in the (very) long run than the homework though I'm sure that's not a convincing argument to her teachers.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Crisis averted!

Not ideal for a senior trying to graduate. HOWEVER, I will note that Emmett totally tanked his last semester in HS and almost lost his college admission and was going to be benched from his baseball team.

So. Let me just note that "going so far" is not an indication of her moral failing, or intent to deceive you but rather her desperation. She's having an executive function meltdown. She "can't even."

Her headspace is not ideal. Neither is mine.

I mean, neither is mine, is part of the problem. My whole job right now is to get my kids through this safely, and I can't even seem to do that.

Our wings are not tired.

{{Buffistas with school age kids}} Another level of stress and uncertainty is so not helpful. This too shall pass?

Logged in to the Publix vaccine link again early this morning and watched it auto refresh for an hour before telling me the many thousands of doses were all gone. Try again on the 3rd. Sigh. Maybe the single dose JNJ variety will be here before my name gets to the top of a queue.

move out and draw fire

flea, FWIW, my son was self-sabotaging with not turning in work, or doing it and not turning it in, for 9 years of school. We finally found a counselor that he couldn't snow and they've been working on his low self esteem issues...but what really turned him around was at the end of last year, I made him sit down and do the math for his GPA as it would have been, had he turned in every assignment and gotten Cs on each one. I then asked him to show me what he actually got on the assignments he turned in (As and Bs). He saw first-hand the huge bump in GPA...and we promised to not criticize him about his grades this year as long as every assignment was turned in.

This was his first semester with all assignments in. He got Ds on some of them, but given that he's had about 40 hours of homework a week in addition to school, I get it. I even managed to keep his father from criticizing him about pulling a B- in history, and instead praise him for getting the work in.

This is because he had been telling himself that he'd never be good enough, so why try? But also, he had to experience first-hand that it's much less effort to turn in work than to do the work and not turn it in and lie about it and hide it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My whole job right now is to get my kids through this safely, and I can't even seem to do that.

You are 100% doing that!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Side note to gamers: the buyer was the CTO of Electronic Arts back in the day. He was the guy in charge of developing The Sims! (among many other things)

Anyone else just dying to see the house this guy builds???
