I, for one, wasn't looking forward to starting my day with a slaughter. Which, really, just goes to show how much I've grown

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

A long shot, but does anyone have opinions on what ticket resale site is the best? I didn't get the on-sale notification for the Beetlejuice musical tickets in Seattle, so I'm going to have to suck it up and go with a reseller.

Our wings are not tired.

Woo! Finished the consult after my hip MRI. No surgery. He said the tear will not repair as it is degenerative, but he is starting me on Celebrex and 6 weeks of PT. The key is that it feels better the more I move as opposed to feeling worse. Good news!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's good news, Laura! My mother had a similar experience with her knee -- she was afraid she was going to need surgery, but PT fixed her right up.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

So, I forgot to have lunch and now that I’ve had dinner my belly’s all “yes, I seem to be full now but I was really very empty for a while there, maybe you should eat more just in case?”

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Happy Friday. My days currently consist of basic levels of work, reports and schedules of medical things for others and me trying to distract myself from such with knitting and movies.

Dad is recovering from the double spinal surgery a week ago. He went 10 days with solid food. It seems his gut is now doing all they wanted and he got lunch yesterday. He is progressing well and they are talking about releasing him to home. I’m dubious of his ability to do basic tasks (like get up from a horizontal bed), but we will see. I may be headed to them to give some assistance and mom some relief in the next weeks.

Tonight after work I dm driving to my friend’s to take her early tomorrow morning to get her port for chemo which will start 2/20. I may return home Sat night or stay overnight, just depends on how she is feeling and what she needs help with.

And my head is full of snot. Undignified.

I tested for COVID yesterday, negative. Maybe I’ll test again today at noon. Don’t think it’s that, seems very head cold or sinus.

Good luck mabelle!

I have my annual review today with my boss who I do not get along with. So that will be rough. However, she is handing me off to a new boss after this due to some reorg so I am hoping to grit my teeth and celebrate after. Fingers crossed. I’ve been so sleepy all week…I really need the sun to start rising earlier so I can wake up easier.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Well, the books did end.

Wait, what? I know the TV show will end after the next season, but I thought the series was still ongoing. (Outlander) Does this mean I should actually force myself to finish book 10, which I got about 10% into and more or less died of boredom?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Good morning, and welcome Friday.

The weather has been erratic between downpours and merely cloudy, so it's been hard to get my runs in. I waited out a deluge yesterday and trotted out in the sunshine and got caught in the rain before I even got to the stadium.

I had just settled into the notion of cooking and cleaning and the rain just stopped. Bother.

I have survived my January of Many Events and Much Socializing. I'm glad I did every bit of it, but I'm planning on a quieter February.

Matilda's about to transition into baseball season, as soon as the weather lets up.
