Angel: I appreciate you guys looking out for Connor all summer. It's just—he's confused. He needs time. That's all. Fred: Right. Time, and some corporal punishment with a large heavy mallet. Not that I'm bitter.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Ugh. My big wire transfer didn't go through yesterday because I have two different checking accounts and I gave them my account number for the joint account with JZ instead of the account number for the Living Trust.

So, the good news is that the money did not disappear into the ether nor re-routed to a Nigerian prince, but now we have to do it all again tomorrow while the IRS taps it's foot impatiently, or perhaps is rubbing its hands in glee at the idea of seizing my property.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Car didn't start in the Costco parking lot. It jumped eventually, thanks to a helpful bystander, but we just had the battery tested and it is supposedly good, so that may mean a more complicated problem. Sigh.

Always Anti-fascist!

Shit. Not like you've been stressed, or distracted or anything. But I don't think they really want it.(Not that they wouldn't *take* it.)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I’m sorry, Brenda.

I still don’t have a PCP. I know I need to go through the provider directory for my insurance again, but I just don’t have the spoons for it.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I still don’t have a PCP.

Get it done. Procrastinating on that is one of my major regrets.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

My PCP (who I had been with for more than 20 years) retired while I was in the hospital recovering from my "big" surgery. I didn't see the letter until she had been gone nearly a month. Since I switched hospital systems (from Sharp to UCSD), it made sense to find a PCP with UCSD. It was stupidly difficult. And given how often I'm seeing major-league specialists, it's hard to care that much. Though I did finally do it and saw her in September. She's fine, whatever. But I DID do it, so y'all better get on it!

Sheryl, do you have a phone number for scheduling you could call? (Assuming you're already with some medical group). I just called them up and made them find someone who was taking new patients and was geographically close enough.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Surgery~ma to your dad, msbelle.

I hope the Gabapentin works for you, Jen.

I am also in the “need a GP stat” camp. My health insurance was in limbo for a week or two, but I think it’s settled now. I haven’t had a GP checkup in mumblety years.

I never understood why people did that, because I was a privileged kid whose parents were ritualistic about doctor visits. And also young and relatively healthy.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Recovery ~ma for your dad, msbelle.

Glad people’s glucose numbers are good—I hope to join you soon.

I put off getting a replacement PCP for almost three years, after my awesome doctor retired. I ended up getting someone else from the same practice, because the front desk people are competent and pleasant. That can make a noticeable difference in care—making sure schedules are set up properly and messages get where they should go. Turns out the doctor herself is quite nice, too.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

My stupid blood pressure is still high, per our home BP monitor. I started a new inhaler 2 weeks ago, and based on a little googling, the inhaler can cause hypertension. It's very uncool that the drug I need to breathe makes my blood pressure get weird. Time to make an appointment with Awesome Doctor. Bah.
