Oh no, JenP! Speedy recovery.
Is this something you can share with us, Shir? Or can I send you money to send along to them?
That is very generous. Thank you. For now it's collecting money via platform that requires an Israeli credit card and ID (its name is Paybox) but I'd be happy to transfer any funds on your behalf. Send me an email and I'll give you the details.
Ugh, shingles! Hope having the vax helps.
Hi. As Hec pointed out in another place, time doesn't exist in hospitals. I've been here almost two weeks (aside from the 12 hours I spent in LA before rushing back), and I am averaging 70 hours a week here. We aren't next to a window, so that makes it even harder to tell if time is passing. I feel like I'm going to be here forever. BUT, in one #win, I did finally get the charge nurse to agree to move Dad over to the other bed now that the guy next to us has been discharged. That bed has a window and a working TV. Small victories. The window looks onto a moldy roof, but at least it has natural light.
Any more iguanas for entertainment?
Alas, no. Apparently, the second floor is much less exciting than the fifth floor for iguanas. There is a stern sign on the cafeteria patio telling everyone not to feed them, however.
Iguanas defying expectations on floor preference!
Shir, the email address in my profile is good
Timelies all!
I’m sorry things are so rough, Pix.
I’m sorry about your dad’s health issues, Pix. I remember being responsible for my own dad when he was in a bad way, and it was a lot. I was in the card exchange—no idea if I was one of your assignees. But consider yourself off the hook for my card if I was.
JenP, I’m sorry about the shingles.
JenP, I’m sorry about the shingles.
Seconded. But thank you for the reminder that I need to reach out to my doctor's office because they forgot to put in the order for my second shingles shot so I've been thus far unable to get scheduled to get it.
Pix, all kinds of love and as much ethereal support as I can send through the intertubes. (And as someone who didn't sign up for the card exchange this year because Some Big Things Are Big And Get In The Way - your Things Are Big and everyone understands that they have Gotten In The Way).
Shir, thank you so much for doing your best to find (and be) the positive in a really effing hard situation. You're inspiring.
