So, party was kind of bs? Managing Director got up and asked everyone to please take a seat, saying he had a 20 minute speech, ha ha, just kidding, and then gave a 20 minute speech. I was of course thinking “just ascend already” towards the end. Dinner was meh. When they started giving out service awards they told us there were too many people with long tenures so only 15+ years would be individually recognized, the rest of us would do group pictures. Which is whatever, fine. They call up the 10-year people but don’t call my name, so that was upsetting. I guess there was a page break in the list or something because they did the group picture and then had two of us come up and do a “group” picture with just us. The award part is 100 pts in their new online corporate gift thingy that I suppose could be good but I am not expecting much. Used to get a leather jacket with the company name embossed on it. I did win a raffle for $100 gift card as soon as I walked away from the table to get a glass of water which was pretty funny. And $100 is not nothing but I will fritter it away on groceries and gas pretty quick. Bah. I am churlish for complaining but I do not feel recognized and valued.
