I have a recipe (The title says "Moroccan Chicken" but I've changed it enough that that feels like a lie, so I call it "Maraca Chicken") that I put dried cranberries in. I also use them in salads, and the one cookie I make that wants raisins. I am generally anti-raisin.
We've got 2 hospitals here doing vaccines. One was set to open up to 1b (this includes me, for job reasons), but posted a thing that their mandate is kupuna (elders) so those of us with vocational eligibility can fuck off till DoH gets their shit together.*
The other stop taking voicemails. I was calling maybe a dozen times a day, no answer, as people had been telling me that that's how they'd managed to get appointments (I also left a voicemail back when we could, and emailed when they changed their message). Got a call from them yesterday to schedule, so I'm getting my second shot on the Friday of Spring Break. I guess they've been slowly working through their messages.
* DoH is terrible at getting their shit together. As is the DoE. Guess who's working together to get school staff vaccinated? Yeah. Being on that list has always been my "if all else fails".
Because you know one place you don't want to be snowed in? The Donner Pass.
Not without company, anyway
-t, considering your tag line, perhaps being alone there would be better ... just an idea ....
I really feel for the parents and students that want and need kids back in the classroom, but then I see the reports of teachers that have caught Covid and died, and I just switch to nope. Classrooms should be closed until teachers can get the vaccine. They did not sign up to literally put their lives in un-needed jeopardy. I also know that essentially every teacher I know wants to be back in the classroom, but they also don't want the risk of catching this thing. So get them vaccinated then talk about in person teaching.
Timelies all!
Gary is on a conference call while Mr. S is watching Youtube videos(Play-by-play of Minecraft. Why? I dunno) in the same room. I am also in the room, and it's a bit much for me.
Yeah I see a lot of “well the vaccine doesn’t really spread that much” and I’m thinking of all the teachers and the poorly paid para-professionals and the lunch ladies and so on and like....no.

My nephew (age 11) watches them constantly. I think he watches the videos more than he plays the game.
It just gets weirder and weirder.
I keep thinking I can't be surprised, and then.
