Working today is not taking. Piddling around, barely getting anything done.
Same. I have one task that I (in retrospect, stupidly) thought I'd be able to focus on today and get done before I go on break, but brain says NOPE. So instead I made cranberry-pecan muffins and bagel dough (set for an overnight rise in the fridge) and spent an hour going through old emails to clear out inbox space.
My job gave us off today, but I have gotten SEVERAL emails, most of which I have looked at and will ignore until next year. (Probably the same amount of work I would have done if we were supposed to be working a half-day.)
I had about a half-day of work, plus wrapping up some admin stuff for the end of the year. Now I need to change the sheets, wrap the presents (god bless gift bags), and bake some pumpkin bread.
Productive lunch time. Watched a short doc (20 min) and confirmed I’ll get a 2% COLA 1/1/24.
I am at work, but currently screening the movie Elf, so it could be worse.
I’m off work today. I’m heading to Michigan on Sunday, so I’m wrapping up household stuff (cleaning, laundry, etc.) at a leisurely pace.
We have a holiday today, and I just got back from a lovely lunch with friends downtown... and they surprise treated us, which was a super sweet bonus. ("Us" in this case was my friend Dave and me. DH was working and a bit under the weather.)
I still have to do most of my shopping. Our trip is in limbo, though, because everyone we were spending Christmas with came down with Covid last week (from a HS Holiday concert -- my niece is the choral teacher there). So they're all going to retest Sat/Sun because it was sort of a rolling infection... depending on how it all shakes out, we may delay for a day or two.
Tomorrow night I'm going to see the White House decorations, though, so that will be very Christmassy!
Today's my regular day off, so I have done laundry, vacuumed, ran 3 miles in the woods, and made 3 loaves of stollen. Now I need to take some ibuprofen and brave the shops: I need presents for my youngest niece and nephew, who we will see tomorrow afternoon for a holiday potluck.
Ohh the WH decorations look super fun this year.
I'm always at work. I'm still dealing with a holiday season where all of my clients are not paying on time when things were already tight.
My anxiety is off the charts right now.
