Our wings are not tired.

Laura!! Report back! Did he go? How is he?

No! I am still working on him. Maybe tomorrow?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I had the vague start of plans to go to Disneyland next spring, but since the Mansion is a very large part of why I'd go, that probably won't happen.

Is the Haunted Mansion in Disney World going to be closed at the same time? Or in EuroDisney?

information libertarian

My goodness there’s nothing like quitting a job to show you who cares about you vs. who cares about themselves. People are disappointing!

I'm sorry, flea. Yes, people can be very disappointing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

In my experience, that does make it easier to leave, at least.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Oh no, flea. That’s too bad.

Darn it, Laura. People can be so stubborn about doctors. One thing having this condition has taught me is that if you do not let your body rest and heal, your body will choose the time and manner itself and you may not like it.

I’m still recovering from my 11 hr workday Monday. I turned off my alarm instead of snoozing it by accident and slept an extra hour, even though I was asleep shortly after 8 pm. So I was an hour or so late to work, which is okay right now but I think they’re going to get stricter about hours after the new year and I’m worried. Everyone will be going to four 10-hr days. It makes sense, I’m just not sure I can actually do it without collapsing.

I’ve been thinking more and more that I need to seriously think about a graceful exit into a different field. I work too hard and get paid too little for it. I don’t know. Buffistas, what should I do next? Wrong and right answers welcome!

To be honest, I've been worried about the physical toll your job takes on your body for a while. (Not that it's my business but I worry!)

I don't know what the right answer is, but I will note that my niece is leaving nursing (actually running clinics- so less of the actual patient care she started with) and just wants a predictable office job where she can clock in and clock out, pay the bills and not have it eat up her life.

Ooh, I have questions! Ignore any that don't matter. Or, I mean ignore them all if you want to! Just trying to get a feel... I don't actually have anything in mind.

Would working from home be good or bad for you?

Would an office job suit you -- I mean, I know the being in by a certain time has been a challenge at times, but... if that weren't a huge part of the culture?

Would you want to do hybrid WFH and office?

Are you staying put in NO?

Would you be willing to/like to travel, or would that be stressy?

Do you like/want to interact with clients and such, or would you rather keep it internal to your "team" or the like?

Do you want to, like, operate on you own, or would you rather just get "assignments" and handle that shit?

Is rote work unimaginable? (I find it soothing, for example.)

Would you want to manage others?

Any field you've thought of that you haven't done but might like/rock out?

If you think of what you've done that hasn't been as physically taxing, what have you enjoyed-to-not-hated?

I mean, I am curious about this kind of shit in general! People are so different in what they love/hate. It's fascinating.
