Safe travels for you and your DH, Laura.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Last night's shabbat dinner was a success. A friend who participated texted me today to ask if we'll be doing more of this and if I think this idea of casual meetings with friends will persist. I gently reminded him that this idea was called "having a normal life" and it's not just an initiative, it's how we stay sane.
This reminds me of an Israeli rom-com I saw in the 90s, which I'm sure I'll never be able to identify, but folks were going about their lives with gas masks on hand, etc.
Also: hope all is well, Epic!!
Yes, absolutely!
Thank you for the birthday wishes! I'm about to finish off a very tasty slice of chocolate cake from Magnolia Bakery. I've otherwise been enjoying a quiet day at home since next week is full-speed-ahead on A Christmas Carol load-in.
Epic, so much spine~ma to you.
Shir, I hope your migraine has abated. Thank you (and Nilly) for continuing to check in and share your thoughts here.
Happy Birthday, aurelia!
All the ~ma for your lumbar puncture and tests, Epic!
I did nothing for most of the day (headache this morning) and then drove to the burbs and bought some hair stuff and spent a bunch of money at goodwill. And I could go out to a Halloween party but I still feel lazy and don’t have a costume. So I am on the couch. I feel very boring but…oh well.
I went to a Bizarre Bazaar today on one of our pedestrian streets. After, ended up going to a UConn Hockey game (we lost, despite a 5 on 3 and even I know that was bad), then to a brewery for food, but after we ordered nachos, the kitchen decided to suspend orders because they were backed up, so we left and ordered pizza. Hung out on my rooftop for a while with the firepit, but got cold and windy, so then hung out at my friend's apartment and now I'm home. Tired.
A Christmas Carol load-in
I start my Christmas Carol work shortly as well.
Happy Birthday!

Was it "The Song of the Siren"? ( [link] ) I've read the book forever ago, but have never seen the movie, and I have to admit how much it amuses me that you have watched an Israeli movie which I haven't.
(Bonus trivia: the man who portrayed the guy the heroine doesn't end up with, Yair Lapid, became a politician and was even the prime minister of Israel for a very short while)
(Does the USA Netflix carry Israeli stuff? I know that there are several differences between the Israeli Netflix and the USA one, because of legal rights issues or stuff like that, and that even in our Israeli account, there are suff you can find when the interface is in English that can't be found when the interface is in Hebrew, but I wonder if it also works the other way around.)
Laura, this skipper thanks you for the wonderful meara a few posts ago - I'm with you on everything you've written there! Have a safe voyage, however you end up taking it!
(meara, you're a noun, you can never be boring!)
Belated birthday wishes, lots of health wishes and all good vibes to all! Have good restful Sundays, please, OK?
