Compassionately intolerant

Biggest of hugs and/or comforting vibes to Nilly & Shir & everyone else.

crossing fingers for lisah's dad & msbelle's work & anyone else who wants it.

HB Fiona!

Cribbing off of Juliana's wishes. All the best, and 'great to see you's all around.

If L0is T. is around: Did you post on FB that you've emailed me a bunch of times? Cuz, the last email I have from you is from 2008. So. I'm thinking maybe a hack, or an email misspelling? My two addresses are the one in my addy here, and he one that is my name @ my full name.

Nothing much to report around here.

Biggest hit today is that a response I sent to Mercury Stardust on Instagram (about having purple hair) is on its way to 500 likes. I feel all viral and such. (heh)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh yikes.

Did I mention how much I want this to be over already so that we can properly mourn and understand how to continue from here? I don't want one more single person dead by violence, here or in Gaza or in the West Bank. Dead babies won't cure dead babies. Just let us live.

All of that, Shir.

Glad your dad's surgery worked out, lisah!

Ooh now I gotta go see what the earthquake was!

No dancing tonight, at least not my usual stuff. Could in theory drive over to the other side of town and do different dancing, but not sure I care enough. Especially when it said it would be “Halloween curated playlist”, not sure I’m into that.

Ooh now I gotta go see what the earthquake was!

It looks like they adjusted it down to a 3.9, but the epicenter was near SFO airport which is not far away at all.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Whoa earthquake

That was a big thumper! More than I've felt in SF in a long time.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Hello. I'm still alive, albeit with a migraine.

Last night's shabbat dinner was a success. A friend who participated texted me today to ask if we'll be doing more of this and if I think this idea of casual meetings with friends will persist. I gently reminded him that this idea was called "having a normal life" and it's not just an initiative, it's how we stay sane.

Our wings are not tired.

Skipping to the end to wish aurelia a very happy birthday! May this day and the year to come bring much happiness!

(I'll have to meara after I catch up)

So I'd appreciate all the prayers, energy, and ~ma you can send for a lumbar puncture today, a PET scan on Monday, and (yet another) MRI next Friday.

First, Epic, there will be all manner of ~ma headed your way. I hope they give you positive results quickly and take away this concern. If you are able please update us as soon as you can.

Well it took 4 weeks, but tomorrow we get official word that my boss is out and not returning. One of the Deputies (that I like and work well with) will be acting Director while a search goes on.

At last! May the transitions be smooth. Let's hope you get to where you should be quickly and out of that line of fire.

I'll have her here Sunday to Thursday and that'll be a treat. She's close with EM too so that'll be a fun reunion and she'll get to know my kids and San Francisco again.

Have a wonderful visit with your niece. May it bring some comfort to all of you.

So much yes. I only wish the people who made the decisions were of the same opinion.

And then we went out for dinner and had a cheese fondue. So, no complaints.

It has been way too long since I had fondue. Need to change that!

Dad out of surgery and surgeon said he did well. They had a minor complication with a bone perforation but were able to put a cable in and fix it (Science!). He's in recovery now and I'm taking my Mom home so she can nap for a bit.

Good to hear! I hope all of you were able to get some rest.

I'm now gonna go and make voodoo dolls of this entire freaking psychotic Molech government and curse them ten genorations back.

Seems like a legit plan.

It is no doubt a challenge to maintain any type of normalcy, but like black humor, these things do help keep you from going crazy. It is good to hear you had time with friends.

Probably missed something on my catch-up. It was such a busy week. Yesterday I picked up DH in Albany, then my sister in Oneida, so I was gone from 9-5. Mostly driving. Today we are doing massive organization getting ready to close camp so I can head home. Still up in the air on the plan to go home. Brendon would rather I don't drive alone (over protective), but my sister had some medical stuff done that we think probably makes it nuts for her to go with me like planned. She had an interesting procedure done, spoiler font for medical details. We are calling it a butt pacer. They implanted leads that help control bowel function because her muscle control isn't what it should be. Works kind of like a pacemaker. Science! She just had it put in yesterday so maybe a 1500 mile road trip then flying back might be asking a lot. So my weekend is a balance of house work, office work, and maybe sneak a shower in at some point. Actually, I might want to shower and eat out if I can talk him into it. (likely we don't have time) I have to bring him back to the Albany airport tomorrow to fly home. Of note, the charging station near the airport has a very nice sushi place to feed me while I charge.
