The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Soup. I have much soup. Not only has the Madwoman in the Attic (the old friend who is our housemate) made me soup, but friends dropped off a care package of homemade minestrone and lots of bread.

In even better news, Mr. Loomycakes comes home today!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yay on soup and bread and husbands returning home!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Tim is Ironman! I'm glad the surgery and the walking are working at making his life so much better.

Hugs and hellos and condolences, Karl.

Cheers for all the good and condolences for all the not-very-good from me to everyone. Clarity and comprehension for the various epiphanies, and also,

(waves, hi, hugs, ~ma, health, love, sparkles, alibis, bitter revanges if you need one)

I want one of everything on Shir's list.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I went to get my teeth cleaned earlier, and it turns out that I need a tooth pulled. Yikes! It's a molar that I had a root canal performed on quite a while ago (10 years? 15 years?), by a dental practice I'm no longer with because they were shitty. Back in 2017 or 2018, the same tooth was giving me some grief, and I saw an endodontist who was able to do some kind of tooth magic and fix it. But they x-rayed it today, and it's at the point where it needs to come out. The freaky part is that it has an infection, and I wasn't aware of it -- there's no pain or tenderness. That's weird as hell. So next week it gets yanked, and after about 6 months I'll get an implant.

I'm glad late night shows are back, because the House voted to remove McCarthy as Speaker.

Our wings are not tired.

Indeed, shrift. Also the gag order on Trump. Great news day for late night.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I have a flu shot scheduled for Thursday. Haven’t scheduled a Covid booster shot yet, but I’ve gotten reminders that Safeway has them.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Please please can we get that clerk to announce for another 15 rounds that no one won the speakership? It's time for her to come back to glory.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Exact same thing happened to me--what was left of my tooth was apparently rotting away under my crown and I had no clue because the root canal from a few years before mean I didn't feel the pain. Next week is my six-month follow-up to make sure the bone graft took properly, and if so they'll schedule the implant.

Depending which tooth it is, you might find yourself biting your tongue more than normal--in my case it was a lower 6-year molar, and I think the teeth on either side have some sharp edges that big molar kinda shielded, and now I keep catching my tongue on them somehow.
