Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy belated birthday Nora!

{{{David and Matilda}}}

Been a busy week. Wednesday Gary and I went to see Jonathan Coulson and Paul & Storm at the Birchmere. Fun, but I have sooo many ear worms now, Thursday we went to the house to do laundry.

Last night was erev Rosh Hashanah, so we went to Gary’s mom’s house for dinner and services. Unfortunately, Mr. S was very restless, so we ended up leaving after dinner. He didn’t settle down back at the hotel, and didn’t fall asleep until after 11. Today we arranged for his nanny to watch him while we went back to my MIL’s to stream services.

Thrive to spite them

I skimmed. I did pay attention to Matilda's now ex. That really sucks.

Work is tiring. But I feel less bad than I did. I'm on a 15 min break. Earlier today a customer stopped and asked "where is your pancake mix?" And I told her and the boy with her (little brother I assume) lingers behind and kind of stage whispers on a conspiratorial way " I'm sorry I only told her 1000 time where to find it". He looked like he was 10 or so.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I woke up sore as hell today, and spent a lot of the day resting. I'm feeling better now.

askye, I lost track of where you're working now, but I'm sorry you had a tiring day.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

askye is at Walmart, I think?

I hope you feel better soon, sj.

Biopsy came back. 2nd fave uncle has liver cancer metastasized from the prostate cancer. Again, we are not close, but it’s awfully jarring that 3/4 siblings could die of cancer within a few years of each other, especially since that sides dies of heart problems, not cancer. Their dad, my grandfather, lived to 91 despite eating atrociously, then getting diabetes and *still* eating atrociously.

Plus this uncle is the executor of said grandfather’s estate, still dragging on for a decade, which involves selling the house (which at a MINIMUM needs absolute gutting to studs and probably bulldozing); both of the other brothers want it but Grandpa didn’t want B to have it and no one wants J to have it while he’s married to an emotionally abusive banshee who keeps adopting pigs.

Sorry. Every time I start venting I have a hard time stopping. I hadn’t seen my therapist in three weeks and I started with, “I know you’re tired of hearing this but seriously? Buckle up Buttercup.” I then recounted most* of the big shit since I’d seen her, which took the entire time, and basically all she could do was say, yup, that’s a lot. That’s not normal.

* realized today, for example, that I hadn’t mentioned my uncle’s liver biopsy

Yes, that is where I'm working. A Neighborhood one, so basically just a grocery store. I'm doing...stocking (although they don't call it that because what they call stocking is what I would consider receiving --taking stuff off the truck etc). Anyway. It's been an adventure and about 30 mins before I left I managed to give myself a bloody nose- was washing my face off with a wet paper towel and somehow jammed my finger in my nose.

It's not the worst place I've ever worked.

smonster that is a A LOT to deal with. Plus everything else.

Ow, askye. I hate when I do that kind of thing to myself.

Feeling better. R made me a healthy dinner as requested and then made me watch Bad Trip, which doesn’t give you an option about laughing. We had to pause halfway through so I could take a break. There were a couple of scenes that I super didn’t like (you can probably guess if you’ve seen it), but it did the trick and I feel calmer today.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm just catching up on the news that Lauren Boebert got caught on surveillance cameras jerking off her date during a performance of Beetlejuice. And vaping too! All while going through a messy divorce and berating drag queens.

"That is why I won’t do two shows a night anymore, babe, I won’t, I won’t do them.”
