Ah, sounds like island rules to me.
I told the lady at our local cafe, the owner.
Hugs. Telling people is a tough one. Sending love.
Off to the annual huge volunteer fire department fundraising event. Last year we got Covid! Of course, that was from going to the bar after the event concluded. This year only the outdoor event and no bar hopping after!
I'm amazed you haven't stepped in to Whip things into shape, msbelle! Excellent restraint! Good for you!
(Though part of my brain thinks you should. Guess I don't embrace *all* the chaos!)
I told the lady at our local cafe, the owner.
Oof, that is hard!
Good luck avoiding the 'rona this year, Laura!
Lol very Dominican of them but it would drive me nuts too msbelle.
I am in line to get into the soccer game, then heading home, grabbing the dog and some rice krispy treats and heading to two different bbqs. Hopefully I will still have energy—I was impressed last night we watched TWO movies (death becomes her and Clue) for a friend’s birthday. I didn’t get home until after MIDNIGHT. WILD.
Crazy, meara! Wow! Sounds fun though! Hope you're doing ok today, lol!
That looks way comfy, beekaytee.
David, you deserve to be scattered, covered, possibly even chunked and capped, but never smothered, with blessings.
Just got back from a weekend trip to the state capital for my cousin's bar mitzvah. A lovely time was had by all, and I'm so impressed at the composure of a 12-year-old standing up in front of a whole congregation and leading a ceremony, nevermind that he learned to read Hebrew to do it! Also got to tour his grandmother's condo (I'd seen it before, but it wasn't furnished at that point) and his mom's beautiful new-esque house.
I also got turned around leaving the follow-up taco bar/pool party and somehow arrived at an intersection where no matter which direction I chose, it was the wrong one and the road would change names and lead toward the countryside. It took us well over an hour to find our way back to the hotel 4 miles away.
Yeah, smonster,
"Smothered" sounds either sticky or hard to breathe through, but he deserves all kinds of blessings.
(Quite frankly, though, many of us deserve better than what we get...not that we've all been somebody's rock this year. At the risk of overquoting from My Favorite Episode ever, "if I got sick, I'd want to know that someone like you is out there.") and not just because, to know who's gonna be at my funeral, I'd have to lie out on the felt, like, Thursday. Nope, even if I had a cast of thousands, Hec has been exceptional.
Not that I have any plans beyond the writing workshop next week.
Timelies all!
Well, this has turned out to be a bad weekend with Mr. S. Last night he had a major meltdown, and he had two more today. I can hope that tonight will be better, but I’m not too optimistic.
