Ah, the pitter patter of tiny feet in huge combat boots. Shut up!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Totally

Somewhat relatedly, Lazlo and Moira from Schitt's Creek need to have a conversation about anything at all. Maybe with Jesse moderating!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Oh my god YES THIS PLEASE.

I just told Tim "Go play with your friends outside!" Because his BFF and BFF's wife came over to drop something off, and I'm actually working (despite the fact that I'm online), so they need to not be inside and conversing and distracting me.

And beekaytee, I love your idea of a retreat center. I would help! I hate that funding and legalities make those things so hard to accomplish.

Amy, honestly, this made my heart leap. My passion for this reality is beyond the beyond. And, any time between 2009 and now would not have been right, but now I am totally ready.

I have a fully fleshed out business plan with several interlocking businesses to create a sustainable hub. The last box to check is a whole lot of money. I'd also really like to have the center be outside the US, if at all possible.

I can guarantee soothing, caftan casual, Buffista events!

David, that's wild about the hospital, but I'm overwhelmingly glad JZ got to be at home.
So much this.

dcp, forgot to say that "square with the world" sentiment really hit me. My grandfather was a Mason, and I actually have his Masonic bible.

My paternal grandfather, great grandfather, and great uncles were 33rd degree Masons. I have my grandfather's Masonic ring, his trowel, a much befeathered portrait of his father, along with very intricately turned, wooden gavels that they both made.

About that tribe, I know only what I've seen in documentaries. And, that when my grandmother died, the Eastern Star did a really beautiful service that led me to think they were talking about someone else entirely. Loyalty is clearly a pillar.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Jessaaaay! I look forward to hearing that! I am on that server too, but mostly in artsy-fartsy

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I see you there!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Yay for Arthur going home!

Mr. S will be visiting for the holiday weekend. Meanwhile, one of my coworkers tested positive for Covid. I tested myself yesterday and it was negative, but I will test myself again tomorrow and Monday.

Because books.

My thing is, I would love to create a community center that offered programs and activities from kids through seniors. Art classes, music programs, sports, dance, writing, and more -- for free. You can't take an art class in my community for under $150.

I just would love to create a space for people to come and be together and have things to do! With social nights and flea markets and all the rest. Staffed primarily by differently abled people, too.

I do not have a plan or experience (other than working summer camps and after school programs for years), but I have ... a lot of enthusiasm?

Didn't need to say it twice, for sure.

I love this idea so much, and you just proved that you do have the experience you need.

I would never suggest that anyone take on something that they don't have a heart for, but the kind of experience you think you don't have can be learned. It's the things that CAN'T be taught that are equally, if not more, important.

Where WitHaven is concerned, it's true that I managed a 42 unit apartment complex when I was an undergrad, and decades later, ran the largest B&B on Capitol Hill (10 rooms) BUT, I'd never done either of those things before that point.

I have been an event planner, worked in every aspect of customer service except for the electronics and I was the mental health provider for DC's version of ComicCon. I'm not saying that attitude is everything, but I was asked to do all this stuff because people assumed I could. And, they were right!

I hate the idea of you missing an opportunity to do something that could make your heart sing because of paperwork. Are permits a bitch? Absolutely, but if anyone has ever mastered them, you can too.
