Ugh. I made an embarrassing mistake. I haven't been able to volunteer the past 2 weeks like I wanted. The grand opening of the reuse center is today I had emailed saying I couldn't be there tomorrow but I'd be good for today and the email I got back sounded like I didn't need to volunteer today because they were all set with volunteers but it was supposed to be we're all set with the time I was volunteering.

So I just showed up to show support snd I apologized and the manager apologized to me and it's ok but it's one of those things.

But I'm secretly glad of the mistake because it was so busy and the place has terrible acoustics and so it was crowded and loud and a lot. It would have been hard to be there for 3 hours. I need to build up tolerance for loud etc.

Congratulations on your worst parenting ever! It's a badge to wear with pride! And now, since it took me 20 minutes to write this, I'm giving up, as I am also the worst.

Jacqueline, you have never been the worst and have always been the best. I keep thinking back to our times when we emailed about Chesterton and Lewis, and little fat babies, and just dang Buffy. I want to keep that forever.

I spent some time with my niece & nephew-in-law, and their little 3-week-old boy. They are still in the constantly-exhausted stage, and I feel so bad for them. Wish we could fast-forward a little bit.

Happily they have a ton of family and friends showing up to support them. I may try to bring them dinner once per week for the next few months.

Just to adjust everybody's expectations, Jacqueline was pretty out of it last night and is having trouble communicating this morning.

I'll see what the magic of Diet Coke and caffeine can do.

But it will be nice to see everybody's face on Zoom.

I'm so glad she will be able to hear our voices.
