I sent a letter. On nice paper! With nice ink! Using a lovely pen!
...peeps, I used the absolute ugliest bog-standard security envelope because THAT WAS ALL I COULD FINE. Like, I know I have Nice Envelopes designed for when you write things on Nice Paper.
Do I know where I have put them? No, no I do not, nor did I have the time (or, with my knee angry, the ability) to tear my house apart looking for them, so poor JZ got sent a letter in something that looks like your junk mail or EOB comes in it.
Plei (or anyone), I did not go this year, but I went the two years prior -- so, er, next year, I guess, if you ever want me to grab you anything from the ginormous fountain pen show here in NoVa ("the world's largest!") I'd be happy to. I'm sure you can get what you need as you need it, but, you know... always happy to wander amongst the enthusiasts to find something for you.
Timelies all!
The latest about the house: The floors on the main level and lower levels will have to come up. There was supposed to be someone coming here this morning to start packing up all the stuff on the bookshelves, among other things, and I agreed to stay home to let them know what stuff belongs to who before it all goes in storage. They didn't show up until 5:30, and they were still waiting on the large claims adjuster to get back to them. Supposedly there will be someone here tomorrow morning to do the packing. I'll be waiting for them.
Meanwhile, it is extremely hot in the house because of all the fans/dehumidifiers running. I'm looking to board Luna because she hasn't been eating, and is stressed from all the noise. What a fucking mess.
I'm glad you're in a much better place now, beekaytee.
Thanks aurelia.
I deleted the post because I figure nobody really cares about the details, so I'm thinking about how to restate the moral of the story, which is that it is never too late to be healed. (I'm 63!) Not everyone believes that, so it's a tricky statement to make.

OMG, there are so often show exclusive inks at that one!

Your package was one of the first to arrive. In fact, she's opening your package in the first picture I showed on FB Buffistas of her opening mail. You have a beautiful hand, which I would expect considering your love of fine pens.

Give me a list next year. It'll be like a scavenger hunt!

Oh, I recognized the envelope and laughed! I figured the odds of anyone else having sent something in a safety envelope that's probably older than my child were slight indeed.
