Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Thanks, askye.
Also, I still win because I get to do life with my badass, hot, funny, talented, cool, best friend of all time.
You are both awesome and badass together you Fight Crime...I mean y'all are extra awesome tiger and that should totally be celebrated.
JZ! So good to see you on the board, even if it's while meara-ing after the fact! Get in a comforting proxy snuggle with the Guinea pigs for me.
And Nilly! And Epic! Good to see so many familiar pixels.
A home health care PT is coming over today to evaluate Tim's progress. IMO, he's doing great. He hasn't even been home a week yet, and he's walking pretty steadily around the house without a walker, although towards the end of the day he's slower and uses a counter/table/wall to make sure he keeps his balance. Transferring in and out of bed is much easier, although I still help a little with that. I'll be curious to see what the PT thinks.
Then later today we have a home health aide coming over to talk about her visiting 3 times a week to help Tim shower, since that's really challenging for me.
Recovery from this back surgery is much more complicated than recover from the heart surgery and the lung surgery put together. Neither one of us expected that. But he's making steady progress, so it'll be less complicated and less challenging as he continues to recover and get stronger.
Also, grocery delivery is AWESOME.
Hi JZ! Sending you love.
Steph. I often forget about grocery delivery. But when you're feeling crappy, it's miraculous. I've discovered instacart can bring you almost anything.
I'm on day four of poopwatch. My cat Scarlet loves chewing on things, and the silicone earpiece of my earpuds has disappear and a gnarled nub is all that remains. I don't know who could have done that. (Eyeroll) She is meanwhile, fullof energy, and eating and pooping regularly. I suspect I'll find it under the fridge or in the basement sometime next year.

Happy Anniversary!
I hope that the PT is duly impressed with Tim's progress. Also, yes, grocery delivery is indeed awesome. When I lived in Pittsburgh we got delivery from the local corner grocer, and he gave us a bill once a month. Now, that part hurt. These days I generally do pick up because it is easy and I am always out and about.
Today is our 15th wedding anniversary. Every year on this date, it makes me sadmad. That we had to wait 13 years into our relationship to legally get married.
We should totally throw you a belated wedding shower! Except you probably already have a pie server. (Which was Jon B.'s gift to us on our wedding).
Maybe some new guitar pedals for Laura...
And i too have very complicated feelings about God and religion but hearing the sermon yesterday...it just felt really good and I enjoyed it and I started watching another but had to pause it but I want to go back.
All of her homilies are really well thought out and beautifully written, with lots of references to poetry. She first caught my ear when she talked about honoring civil rights pioneers as doing Christ's work on earth. And just the most open hearted celebration of gay and trans with an emphasis on "God loves you when you are your true self."

Our hospice nurse is coming by today. Matilda has been very focused on tending to JZ, changing her dressing, cleaning out her pump canister etc.

I actually like grocery shopping, but for the time being, I don't want to leave Tim alone for too terribly long, so we'll go with delivery for a couple of weeks.
I love grocery delivery and have stuck with i. I have Wal mart plus which also gets me a discoint on gas. ALlthough since Food Lion opened I've been shopping in person there. They have better prices on some things and they also discount their meat and now that we have a chest freezer again I'm stocking up a bit.
One of M'a nieces stopped by to see his mom and say hi. His mom was fussing because the niece has to drive 40 mins to her job and her car doesn't have air conditioning. His mom wanted her to not go in (his niece is working for a house cleaning service and she had to drive that far today). Of course she wasn't going to not show up at her job so I lent her one of thr neck fans we have and gave her a bottle of electrolyte water and felt very Mother Hen-ish.
