Hec, sometimes I have asked my mother to read your blended-family postings because they are so remarkable to us. The weird part in mine was that the two "steps" also took against each other, whether from strong personalities or out of some misguided attempt to help their "side", I've never been sure, but they weren't even involved in some of the original arguments, but it didn't stop them.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
It was a conscious effort to foster a relationship between Matilda and Emmett's mom, and it has grown to be something so nurturing for all. A bond that helps make our family.
You and EM really did a fantastic job of coparenting and moving past the old hurts, I can't stress this enough. Too many people just can't.

What Plei said. I really really admire how you and EM were able to do that.
Ugh. I hate this. JZ is our most gentle soul, always there with a kind, loving word, able to see the beauty, humor , and best side of everything (including people). It's just not fair.
Seriously, don't know anyone whose family blended that completely. Yeah, Vortex, I agree.
Thanks everyone for the offer to contribute to something for the nurses. I don't have bandwidth to gather funds, and wanted to get something done before JZ was released from the hospital. So I had a whole bunch of goodies from a local SF bakeshop delivered.
I ordered a Party Platter variety, a chocolate Cruffle Truffle Retro Gift Box, a Cupcake Party Box and a dozen Cruffles from Sift Dessert Bar. There was a slight snafu with the delivery in that neither Hec nor I knew that the hospital wouldn't allow deliveries, leaving the poor delivery guy calling me here in Massachusetts.... But thankfully Hec was able to meet up with him in the lobby. Whew!!
The message I sent for the nurses: "Thank you to all of the staff who are taking such excellent care of our dear friend Jacqueline Smay. As you probably know by now, she’s a very special person who’s been an incredible part of so many lives. On behalf of her friends and family far and wide, here are some treats to acknowledge our deep appreciation for all you’ve done to provide her comfort.”
I need no reimbursement. So for me, for this particular delivery, if you want to contribute, send the money to your favorite charity. (Or maybe JZ's favorite!!)
That was lovely of you, javachik, thank you. And beautifully expressed.
Thanks, javachik.
Of course! I remember how happy the nurses were when I ordered a dozen pizzas for the staff taking care of the late boyfriend.
And best yet, Hec got to hand them right to badass nurse Renee!
Thank you, javachik.
