I battle evil. But I don't really win. The bad keeps coming back and getting stronger. Like that kid in the story, the boy that stuck his finger in the duck.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Great news on Tim!

Awaiting scan results and next step. JZ got dilaudid and is now asleep.

I went out and got coffee and now I wish I’d dilly dallied more since I’m stuck on an uncomfortable chair.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

After writing that I thought “Fuck it, I’m going back outside until the results are in ( which won’t be for another half hour).

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

May JZ and Tim both be released swiftly.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The ER doc said the scan showed an obstruction in the bowel. The plan was to admit her to the hospital because he thought it was poop caught behind the tumor.

But when the surgeon looked at she thinks it is more likely that the cancer itself is blocking her bowel.

They could do surgery but it would only provide a few weeks of relief before the cancer migrated back. Also she’s in poor shape for surgery.

The cancer has been growing aggressively since we stopped the chemotherapy.

We will do a decompression procedure, where the run a tube down her nose and suck everything out of her stomach and bowel stuck behind the obstruction.

But basically this is end game and the end is coming very quickly.

I have to talk to Jacqueline’s oncologist to see how we manage this last part.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Oof.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

This is unbelievable -- so hard to really take it in. There are no words to encompass it. I'm thinking of you and JZ and your family all the time and sending so much love your way.
