Ugh, I'm sorry, Jen! We got so mad at ourselves when we got it last year. Annoying for sure, but thankfully not as tragic as it was before vaccines.
Tomorrow is the annual 'meet and greet' in Otter Lake. The local pub where this is held is where we caught Covid last year at a community event. Granted that was just all out stupid as we were indoors in very crowded conditions shouting with all our neighbors to be heard over the noise. We were really asking for it. This year I see they have built an outdoor structure, perhaps because we weren't the only victims! Anyway, it is a fundraising event and I am hoping we can pay up, run through the food line, get a drink, and go outside to socialize. Sigh, I don't think we will ever be able to socialize without giving it a lot of thought again.
eta: Barbie was a delight. My son was actually blown away as he hadn't anticipated enjoying it so much. He had purchased matching Hello Kitty pink t-shirts to go with the girlfriend and they were mighty cute. If on FB, this is a link [link]
I’m possibly going to try to see Barbie this weekend if we can get a sitter. We have at least 8 people coming g to Francesca’s birthday party this year. So I don’t have to make myself sick worrying about her being upset that no one could make it this year. Summer birthdays are hard.
We've got the Covid, but so far, so mild.
Boo! May it stay mild and leave quickly.
Jacqueline's been having a rough stretch where her body doesn't want to eat, drink, nor pee. As these are essential functions we had to go to Urgent Care yesterday and do a bunch of tests which were inconclusive. And where she was able to provide a full bottle urine sample, so...
Today she asked me if she should try to schedule a hydration session (saline bag) on Friday.
I said, "Today is Friday."
"It is?"
"What day did you think it was?"
"Wednesday."
The last several days have been an unpleasant blur for her.
So far she's been able to nibble an English muffin and some milk this morning, so here's hoping we can keep her stomach settled, and everything moving through the proper interior channels.
Summer birthdays are hard.
They are! Bobby was born in August and a couple years it was during the school years, but if so the first week. So all birthday gatherings were close family and neighborhood kids.
Hydration and nutrition ~ma for JZ.
Aw, JZ, that sounds pretty unpleasant. Good throughput~ma
Ugh. This morning has been that scene in a suspenseful action movie where somebody has to cut the wire to defuse the bomb.
Except she's sitting on the toilet, facing the tub, and we're trying to take the study meds. Which have been cut into small quarters and we are slowly getting them down with Gatorade, despite a very hinky stomach which is balking quite a bit.
The other effective trick has been that old standby, broth. One malfunction so far but more in than out and we're trying to hold steady.
It's exhausting.
Going to talk to her local doctor and see if we can get a saline bag infusion today or tomorrow.
Oh dear. Good luck with the saline, for sure
Yes, I hope you can get the saline. Dehydration is tricky stuff.
And wishing you and easy bout of Covid with a quick recovery, JenP! I think that was one of the many things I thought but did not type, so typing it now
Having chicken soup for lunch in hopes of that somehow helping all y'all's health
