Yes, that is an understandable reaction, Consuela.
In more the world has gone mad news, I see someone went on a shooting spree in New Zealand around the World Cup. I only saw the headline so don't know the details. Generally New Zealand gets this stuff right, but tough to get rid of all the ways the crazies can get weapons.
Laura, from what I read, it was employment related, not World Cup related. But still, sad and depressing.
Completely understandable, Consuela.
That's sad news out of New Zealand.
In a complete shift of seriousness of subject... I need to trim the claws of the beasts today before they puncture us unto madnesses. I wish they could understand that trimmed claws make everything better for an indoor kitty and her humans. They do not.
I need to get my animals in for that annual vaccinations now that I am in NY. I was considering having the cat's claws trimmed too, but now that I am up here I am hoping maybe her romping in the woods and clawing trees will do the job? I'm not sure it works that way so I'll ask the vet, who will yell at me for letting her out, but that is her summer joy to get out of the condo life.
I feel weirdly hurt.
I totally get it. It's not like you wanted to be the center of attention, but it sucks when it feels like you're invisible.

It's not weird, it's completely understandable. Consuela.
Except for the 'impossible to see anyone specific" group shot, same thing happened to me. It sucked honestly.
I got my makeup done and bought a fabulous jumpsuit and there isn't a single flattering photo of me...
Anyway I'm about to have another staff member give notice today and I'm just... Argh.
That is totally sucky, Consuela. I’m sorry. I would be hurt too.
The shooting was big news here. Does sound employment related and sadly still probably safer here than in the US but flags were at half staff and there was a moment of silence before the game.
The game was awesome though—NZ won, their first ever win in a World Cup game! Everyone was so excited, and the stands were packed until the end because it was so close. The opening ceremonies were fun, and we even managed to time going to the souvenir stand well (lines were crazy at them but I had us go at 30’ in and it was pretty quick!). Best yet, the rain that was forecast to be heavy held off until literally about two minutes after the match ended (and it wasn’t too bad to walk home in, I had a poncho).
Sadly woke up at 5am and wasn’t able to go back to sleep, so reading on my phone til my friend wakes up and we decide on a plan for today. By the sound of it it has been POURING rain for the past few hours so crossing my fingers that lightens up some! I’m happy to do an indoor day but serious rain and wind is no fun.

Wow! Must have been so cool to be there for that!
It is so awesome that you are there, meara! I seriously appreciate living vicariously through my friends. So keep doing exciting things people!
