The settlement check had cleared and I have paid off my credit cards!
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Yay, askye! Having the credit cards paid off is a big relief.
Yikes, and, yes, I can confirm that dehydration and electrolyte depletion can happen fast and are awful. Because of my short gut, 3 liters of oral rehydration solution (which, absorbs better for those of us thus afflicted) and a double dose of magnesium supplementation are a daily ritual... or else.
Man, when I first got released after the final surgery, I had to get my blood checked three times a week and then go to the ER about every two weeks for an IV magnesium infusion. For, like, four months. Jesus, it was a lot. I am so freaking lucky lo' these three years past.
Three times a week is a lot!
Yay payment askye!
vote for "call it a Barbie tie-in and leave it be" but my baseline level of exhaustion at this point is high, and the list of things I can't be assed to do is long.
Hahah yeah I tried washing it this morning but although a lot of dye seemed to come out in the wash it is just as hot pink as before. But I have a ton of work and work meetings between now and when I leave so not sure anything else is really an option right now
askye, you have a lot going on! I'm sorry for your aunt and all the hassle for your mother but I'm happy you got the check!
In general advice, anyone getting older should have an advanced directive signed, scanned, and provided in electronic format to their family. Huh, I should do that! If you have senior relatives you may need to help, do talk to them about this and get copies that you can keep in a reliable place (I kept my dad's paperwork on my phone).
Woke up with a headache and a little nauseated, so I'm spending the morning in bed. First legit sick day in quite some time. Dog isn't too pleased, though.
Yay for the paying off!
Any e reader recs? Kindle? Fire? Something else? I'm tired of struggling with this.
Congrats, Gud! How is it that you're about to have both kids married when it doesn't seem that long ago that you were building a rocket ship in the backyard?
I'm not sure how it happened.

I really like the Kindle paperwhite.
I'm a fan of the Kindle.
I like my kindle but honestly mostly read on the kindle app on my iPad these days—it’s a bigger screen and easier to navigate/download/etc. The paper white kindle is nice for being smaller and lighter but mostly I only use if I want to carry something tiny and/or it’ll be in bright sunlight where the iPad isn’t as good. (Also it’s waterproof!)
I also have a Kindle, though I don't think it's a Paperwhite. What I like about reading on it rather than a phone or iPad is the ability to take blue light out of the equation. I try to limit that because of the migraines, and I find my eyes get tired less quickly with my Kindle.
