I am 0 for 2 at finding small shade-friendly plants for my window at local nurseries. But I did get to see a cat drink from a garden water fountain at the last one, so not a total loss.

Home Depot, Lowe's and the like usually carry a few house plants. Might be something shade-friendly there.

Fuck. Our appointment this morning was for 8am and we still haven’t started the infusion.

Which means we’re starting to get into fuckyland for our scheduled flight on Friday.

Because they scheduled us for 8am on Friday I got earlier flights. JFC why do I have to explain the chemo pump clock to these people every trip.

Understandable frustration.

It is disappointing to read that the crew has not been able to establish and maintain a consistent routine, something you might rely on for planning purposes.

It's not like anything they are doing should be a surprise, or at all unusual to them.

I wish I could come up with some helpful suggestions, but I got nothing. You and JZ are doing your part, it is reasonable to expect the others to do theirs, and to care about doing it well.

Happy Birthday Epic!

Ugh. The last two days at work have been ridiculously busy. Also seriously understaffed. The post-bac is on vacation all week.Yesterday I was the only person processing samples for the first two hours. One person was out sick, another was coming in after 11(family medical stuff) a third was coming in at noon and a fourth was supposed to be at 9:30 but came in closer to 10. Today was a little better as two people came in around 8, which is their usual time.

We have a new nurse basically every time. But our doctor and the trial coordinator are the same, and we've communicated the issue with them.

The issue is with (1) The Scheduler, who we don't have any contact with and the Trial Coordinator needs to deal with, and (2) every month (two trips) we get a new stash of Clinical Study drugs, and they have to go through a lengthy authorization process with multiple people signing off. Ultimately it gets bottlenecked in the Pharmacy where they can sit on the auth for a couple hours unless somebody is badgering them about it.

Some nurses understand this when I tell them, and other nurses do not. I told our nurse today to bug the Pharmacy people, she didn't. So we sat for two hours waiting for something to happen. Finally I tracked her down at her station and she did the extra prodding of Pharmacy that got things going but our early in/early out scheduled day turned into 8 hours at the hospital from 8 to 4.

We should've/could've been done before 2pm.

Anyway, our nurse kept us with the early 8am appointment on Friday so they'll just run the chemo pump faster to time us out by 10 or 10:30 and we can make our 1:30 flight.

I’m so tired of incessantly hearing about a half dozen billionaires who decided to fuck around and are now finding out. I have enough nightmares from people trapped in hells not of their own making, thanks.
