Get up...get up, you stupid piece of... What did you do that for? What's wrong with you? Didn't you hear a word he said? All of you! You think there's someone just going to drop money on you?! Money they could use?! Well, there ain't people like that. There's just people like me.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

That makes a lot of sense!

Thrive to spite them

I know I need to work on my resume, even what I have on Indeed but I did update and then just applied for a job I don't really want so now that hurdle of "oh crap I have to start applying" is kind of out of the way.

Bully for you, askye! Sometimes you just gotta shake the dust off your feet and move on.

I had a nice weekend: did some cooking (made a batch of beans and a rhubarb quick bread), went for a walk with my niece and wandered SF with an old fandom friend, and yesterday went for a mountain bike ride with my sister. Don't love being back at work, but it was a reasonably quiet day, and my hiring process is progressing reasonably well: I hope to have 3 (three!) new staff members on board by Labor Day.

My sister is trying to get me to start playing pickleball with her, but I am not retired and I'm not that interested in taking up a new sport. I am still running, climbing, and biking, and that seems like enough at the moment.

Wow that’s a lot of new employees Consuela!

I do not want to go back to work tomorrow but it’ll probably be good for me. I am stressed because I am not ready for Pride this weekend AND I am not ready for my trip in LESS THAN A MONTH—I don’t have a place to stay several places (one I had booked but they canceled on me, so now I have to find a new one)

Our wings are not tired.

Today is a most Epic day in history as it is the day that EpicTangent was born. Happy Birthday, Epic! I do hope that this year brings you vastly improved health. It has been such a struggle, but you have shown incredible patience and determination through the process. I hope you are being spoiled today.

Happy Birthday, Epic!

You've got a lot going on, meara. Sending you good vibes for stress reduction as you deal with everything.

Suela, yeah, you do have a deep bench of activities... pickleball can wait! We took an intro. lesson, and it was fun, and we only do swimming and (super easy) yoga on the regular. I could stand to re-investigate it for myself, honestly.

Quiet and rainy here today, which is a good day for writing, which I have a buttload to do, so, that worked out well.

Happy Birthday, Epic!

We are closing on our old house today, so that's exciting. Ending up selling it for more than I thought we'd get.

Happy Birthday Epic!

I am 0 for 2 at finding small shade-friendly plants for my window at local nurseries. But I did get to see a cat drink from a garden water fountain at the last one, so not a total loss.
