We finally took off, and landed about 4 hours late. I should get home about 24 hours after I woke up. Yikes. But the good news is the Uber prices are back to reasonable amounts (last time I landed here late maybe a year ago, it was $90 to get home, so I took an actual taxi because it was cheaper!) and I think I can use some of the Uber eats gift cards my aunts sent to pay for it. I can’t wait to sleep.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I do hope you are in the deepest and most restorative sleep, meara. I'm sorry for all of it. Try and do as little as possible for the next few days to try and recover some.
That sucks, meara. I hope you sleep well.
So brainy people, here’s where I am today. I WANT to get things done, either cleaning, or yard stuff, or knitting. I KNOW I will feel better if I do any of this. But it feels like my brain is screaming on the inside OH MY GOD IT IS TOO MUCH, JUST SIT DOWN AND WATCH THINGS. But then I try saying to my brain (because it feels very separate from me) “But, we’ll feel better and not spiral about wasting the whole weekend. We already did nothing all day yesterday.” And then I my whole body feels like I might actually have a full on toddler meltdown.
I’ve showered and lean two errands while I had the car, that broke through the brain a bit. I stayed on my feet to get dishes washed, recycling out, 1 load of laundry in, and 2 rooms roombaed. (2 of those are passive cleaning which are much easier).
But then I sat down and now it’s been an hour.
You’ve done a lot, msbelle. Listen to your brain and give yourself a break!
Sometimes your brain conspires with your body to make you take a break. Taking a weekend needs to be on the To Do list too.
Timelies all!
Happy Fathers Day to all the Buffista fathers and father figures! We took Gary's dad out to dinner. (went to a nice pizza place because Mr. S wanted pizza as he always does.)
I had pizza yesterday, too. One of those fun little ones.
It took me into the evening to get around to it due to laziness, but I finally installed my triflora hanging planter in the kitchen. My first use of power tools in the new house seems to be a success, and only sweat was involved, not tears or blood!
I'm thinking catnip for one of the pots and basil or mint for another. Any recommendations for a flower that will do well indoors in a 3" pot?
Today we celebrate Cass! Happy birthday, Cass! I hope you are having a beautiful day and that the year to come is filled with delight.
It was a very nice birthday yesterday. Thank you.
