It's really interesting, given that Lindelhof went on to make the Watchmen series. (Interesting, in the sense that nothing excuses creating or supporting that kind of shitty environment.) It seems like he's learned better, for whatever that's worth to people.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I'm definitely going to read that book. I'm not surprised about Lost being a toxic set. I can't really pin point why but just from things I'd read about storylines and choices that were made it seems to make sense.
I've had an interesting day. M's uncle went in to get a stent placed in his heart and we ended up with M's cousin (ML)'s son at our house, her son lives with her parents and not with her (no idea why) and then they heard that M's uncle is going to have open heart surgery tomorrow morning, they discovered he was a "walking heart attack waiting to happen" so that is good. But it may mean that ML's son will be staying with us. I'm not sure his grandmother came and picked him up and now he's gone and I don't really get told stuff. Not sure why he can't stay with his mom.
And then I got an email from the dr's office saying I'll owe just about $1200 for the colonoscopy on June 1. So first why is anyone getting told that 2 days before they are supposed to pay up. Second I thought it was covered as a preventative test. I tried to call them, after 15 mins wasn't through so I tried to call United Health and I expected a fight. What I got was the very nice customer service rep saying that my plan covers 1 colonoscopy a year preventative AND diagnostic and that the dr's office must have just sent a generic letter. She emailed me information AND said that if the dr's office pushes back on this at all to have them call United and they will get it straightened out. Work apparently has a plan with a conciergerie service so it's easier to get through. She assured me that they would cover it and not to worry.
I wish I could be even a little bit shocked any more when I find out more of the entertainment industry is totally toxic. All of us that have worked in it have seen enough toxic behavior over the years that is just a response of, "Yeah, that was also toxic? I didn't know about it, but I'm not at all shocked by it." My industry is so broken.
I was immediately turned off by the way that the minority characters were treated/written from the beginning. I can't remember exactly what it was, but I remember thinking that I was not interested in another Magical Negro story. I think I got through 2 episodes?
Yeah the way everything centered around a core white four with distinct minority satellites - ugh. I’ve only read about half of the article and I’m both appalled and unsurprised.
I might need to read that book. I have a lot of thoughts I can’t quite crystallize, but “appalled and unsurprised” is a decent summation.
Eep, just killed the first black widow spider I've encountered at the new house. It was in the process of setting up its web on the lid of my trash receptacle a few inches from where I have to handle it. Prior to this a clover-happy wasp and a possibly lethally injured rat were the most dangerous animals I'd run across on my property.
Facebook is half “suggested for you” posts these days which is obnoxious. I understand advertising but no, Im not particularly interested in truck driving and commercial drivers license memes accounts? Wtf?

Yikes!
Hmmmm. Consider starting a bingo card?
And that's just one chapter of her book where she talks about other shows like SNL and Sleepy Hollow.
Just put that on hold at the library. I am still so very, very bitter about Sleepy Hollow.
