So I had a meeting with the lawyer. Turns out that the while the neurologist was at total dick in person his notes are helpful to me as a claimant. Which I guess is good. I now have to wait for a neuro psych evaluation which could take as long as the neuro ophthalmologist appointment. The lawyer also said to go ahead and get new glasses instead of keeping waiting for Corvel to do something and then I can submit the receipt for reimbursement.
And worker's comp is talking about offering a settlement. Unless it's the best settlement I could ever hope to get I wont' be taking it until after the neuro psych eval.
Unfortunately my anxiety has been up. I texted Crafty friend several times since monday and she hasn't replied so now my brain is all "you fucked up, you did something wrong when you were over there and she never wants to see you again". Which I don't really think is true. However I did text her and said - um, so my anxiety is acting up and I just wanted to touch base and make sure we are cool.
Unless it's the best settlement I could ever hope to get I wont' be taking it until after the neuro psych eval.
Yes, until you get a full picture of what is going on you can't settle.
I remember the Florida idiot unhelmeted cyclist's death well. It was right after the law was passed. I doubt it changed many minds though.
I am reeling. Just found out my 2nd cousin died in a car accident on Monday afternoon. I think it's hitting me hard because he is the first in the family to die who is
younger
than I am.
I haven't seen him in a couple of decades, but we were pretty good friends as children, spent a lot of summer vacations together.
He retired a few years ago after being a policeman for twenty years in the second-largest city in Arkansas, and the head of their SWAT team.
His SUV was in a collision with a semi-trailer rig at a crossroads in rural Oklahoma. Not sure who hit whom, or how, yet. The driver of the rig was unhurt. My cousin's wife, in the passenger seat of the SUV, was unhurt.
If my cousin had been belted in, like his wife, would he have survived?
People! Wear your seatbelts!
Oh no, dcp. I'm so sorry.
Sorry for your loss, dcp.
Oof, dcp, condolences to you and family
Oh dcp what a nightmare, I’m so sorry.
oH, dcp, that's just awful. I'm so sorry.
