I think I got called off more often than not when I got a Jury summons in SoCal. Here's hoping you're in the "released" group, Pix

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
It is a windy rainy mess here. It has been like this for several days, with no end in sight. They apparently have suspended flights at Fort Lauderdale's airport. Roads around the airport are flooded and people are stuck there. I've been looking for waterspouts, but haven't seen any yet. It is so hazy over the ocean I'm not sure I would see them. I haven't seen any today, but the last couple days the kite surfers were having fun. Crazy lot they are.
Timelies all!
I'm so sorry, Pix.
Sheesh, no fewer than a dozen times my phone, tv, and watch have yelled out flash flood warnings, lightning warnings, and so forth. We made it to the park and back with the dog, who was not pleased about going out in the rain. On the way home the warnings had escalated to only essential traffic. It's a mess.
Morning news reports that Ft. Lauderdale airport got 25.95" of rain in the last 48 hours. They think they might open again around noon but they have to tow away all the abandoned cars on the flooded streets first so people can get in and out. The park next to where I live measured a bit over 20". I did go out this morning and A1A was passable, but still oddly placed abandoned cars here and there. Couldn't get into the dog park though so Skinner and I walked around the mall parking lot. Schools are closed and it looks like a nice day to just stay home. Much less windy today.
Thus ends your morning weather update.
Holy crap that is a lot of rain!!
Wow, Laura!
I learned this morning that while my car fob will not unlock or lock my doors or allow the car to start unless it is physically in the little slot, it *will* set off the alarm if I drop it on the porch. It will *not* turn *off* the alarm - to do that I have to unlock the door with a key, put the fob in its slot and turn the engine on. Really glad that worked, at least. Also glad my neighbors did not drive me off with pitchforks and allowed me to just slink away in shame.
Ironic that you were hunting for houseboats not that long ago, Laura. Maybe check into gondolas for getting around the streets, just in case?
Happy to report my new permanent crown is in and feels like a tooth rather than a LEGO® jammed into my jaw the way the temporary one did.
Gondola would have worked. Here is some drone footage. [link]
Oh, my word, Laura.
-t, what a pain in the ass!
Good to great, Matt.
DH is doing a "handy" thing today. There are issues. I am trying to be supportive while preventing a trip to the ER. It's a delicate balance.
