Our wings are not tired.

What a lovely filled with great family updates Easter, Teppy!

Excellent holiday update for your family too, askye!

This past weekend was make up for being awful about phone calls for my MIL. She loves to talk on the phone and honestly I ignore 9/10 of her calls. She always leaves a message, which is always, Hi this is Mom, call me back. So Saturday I made her a quiche, brought it over, had lunch with her, and left her the leftovers. Then Sunday I brought Easter dinner of a lamb roast, asparagus, and matzo ball soup. And of course, left her the leftovers. So I am back to being good DIL. Actually, she is understanding of my phone ick and I do try and call her from the car on the way to or from the dog park from time to time. I love talking to her, but F2F, please!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

You know, when you give a 75-year-old woman her very first cell phone, you should probably be prepared to wake up the next morning to a series of text messages indistinguishable from someone having a stroke.

It’s actually pretty hilarious now that we’ve confirmed she’s OK. My mom’s BFF, who was kind of our 2nd mom/fun aunt growing up. She and her DH never had a cell phone and their only online presence was Facebook and AOL. Then they got locked out of FB and couldn’t reset because AOL and no cell phone. They’ve basically been living in the 90s with a landline and an answering machine. Too much.

Oh wow Brenda that’s …excitement nobody needs?

Hi everyone! I am back from Bali. You know what I don't want to do? My job

Heck I’m only back from a weekend and I don’t want to do my job! Thankfully it’s still a bit quiet since some folks have day after Easter as a holiday too.

Also I stepped up dose of my new meds on Friday and yesterday was so nauseated and barely managed to eat anything (like. 5 saltines, 1/3 of a protein bar, and about 1/4 of a protein shake?) it was miserable feeling. Working too good!! Thankfully feeling a bit better today, but geez, way to work TOO well, meds.

Sounds like some good weekends and family time was had over the weekend, so yay.

I'm sorry about your aunts, Pix. Good that your knee is coming along well.

I've mostly been sleeping my cold away. I'll test again today, but I think it's just a cold.

DH got me a couple of small chocolate bunnies yesterday. I always think of Steph's yearly meme as soon as I bite the ears off.

That's about it over here. NyQuil haze, basically.

Oh, except I would like a duplicate of your Bali trip, Jesse! Looked so wonderful.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm really sick of matzoh. 3 more days to go...

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

My Aunt Pat passed the morning, surrounded by family. She was an amazing woman with an easy laugh and a love for the UConn women's basketball team. She was a nurse for more than 45 years, doing everything from oncology and ER to same-day surgery over the years. She was an amazing cook and baker and the matriarch of our family after my grandmother, her mom, passed in 2016. She hosted Thanksgiving for my entire childhood into my 20s for our entire extended family. She leaves behind three amazing kids and six grandchildren, all of whom are mourning her loss but also grateful she is no longer in pain.

This one wasn't a surprise like Aunt Nita last week; Pat was in hospice. But it's devastatingly sad. And losing two aunts in less than a week has me feeling pretty shaken.

Thank you for all of your kind worlds earlier.

Thrive to spite them

As much as I disliked the previous workers comp dude I had to deal with he at least got my checks out regularly. Since Dec or so they haven't gotten to me regularly. I thought it was solved and then I realized I was sending info about my current pay stub and hadn't gotten a check from my last one.

We're also going to Florida on Sat so I really need the checks this week so I can deposit them ASAp. I also need to pay bills and have money for my trip. I emailed the lawyer and then yesterday I got a check in the mail...for a pay period over a month ago. I hadn't realized they had gotten that behind again. I got confused because they sent multiple checks for the last ones and I guess I lost track.

The lawyer is going to try and get them to send at least one before Friday.

It used to be I would email the pay slip to the lawyer (and I get access to those Wed the week I'm paid) and then by middle of the next week check.

I don't know why direct deposit hasn't been an option. Perhaps it was in tbe paper work I neve received from them but at this point I'm not going to try and change anything. At the rate I'm going they would get my bank account wrong .
