I am terrible at decisions like that. I like the teal and the white.

Well, for the first time in more than four years, I have a cold (tested negative so far). It's been a good run. NyQuil, heated blanket, and Audible to the rescue.

Punishingly Intricate

Ugh I have a cold now too and just had to let my Mom know I wasn’t coming out to brunch. I feel terrible either way but at least I don’t risk passing the virus on to my folks if we stay home. By terrible I mean guilty.

I like the teal door, Matt. We have a blue door and it is very happy making.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I think I like the white best, which surprises me.

If it's the main door that you want visitors to use, I'd go with the teal or the white. They are the most visible. If you want people to come in via the carport, I'd go with the brick colored ones.

I like the red best.

I like the teal, Matt. Have you considered a yellow?

No, but I've hated that when I've seen it on other houses. The closest I'd be able to tolerate is a golden pine.

I'm glad to hear most people are leaning toward teal, that's the direction my gut was leaning.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Yeah I'm a big fan of brick houses with red doors so I'm surprised to find myself liking the teal better

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We are making our "traditional"(for values of tradition that are less than 20 years old) eggplant matzo lasagna.

I like the white door! I'm boring.

Friends, it has been a week. I haven't wanted to post about it on my social media because of various family members, but my Aunt Nita died very suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday. I wasn't close to her anymore, but she's been a part of my life since I was born, and it's hard to think of her being gone. She was married to my Uncle Gene (my mom's older brother), who I was close to and who died in 2021. I also found out this past week that my Aunt Pat (my dad's oldest sister) has gone into hospice care and is in tremendous pain in the final stages of cancer, though they are trying to manage it. I am close to Pat; she has been one of the rocks in our family, and as a 45+ year RN (including oncology) she knew what her diagnosis meant when she got it in December. She and my dad both say they don't want me to try to get him up to see her before she passes. They spent a week together last summer when I brought him up and then ended up with Covid, stuck in my mom's guest room, and that is how they want to remember each other. But I'm worried about my dad when Pat passes. They still text each other as they watch the UConn women basketball team play, and she's who he always stayed with when he visited. It's going to be hard on him, and I'm so far away. I'm also so incredibly sad that I probably won't see Pat again before she's gone.

In more positive news, I'm recovering well post-ACL surgery. I'm out of the giant brace and improving my range of motion with PT a little more every day. I am in complete denial I have to go back to work tomorrow.

ETA: I completely forgot to wish everyone happy holidays, but whether you celebrate Passover, Easter, Ramadan, Holi, Nowruz, Ostara, or just love the coming of spring, I wish you happiness and joy.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Oh the teal, for certain.
