I want to torture you. I used to love it, and it's been a long time. I mean, the last time I tortured someone, they didn't even have chainsaws.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

I was late watching Tim Minchin's opening number for the 2020 BAFTAs, but picked it up last night. One of the lyrics was "Who designed your tracksuit?"

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Considering some of the Zoom ... errors ... where people weren't wearing pants, I figure being covered should be sufficient.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We have ordered a meal for 2-to-4 people from a local gourmet market. Probably will end up with leftovers(especially since we have no idea what Mr. S will eat, or how much), but that's ok by us.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Amy, Amyth can’t handle dairy or beef. I’m not aware of any other issues.

Because books.

Thanks, Calli! Does dairy in a cookie count?

Fucking FINALLY.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Fucking FINALLY.

About goddamn time.

We have one more great-nephew as of today! 8 pounds, 10 ounces, which made me wince just a little bit. CHONK.

move out and draw fire

I literally canNOT believe GSA pulled that shit, but yes, good, finally.

Volans, if not being employed is due to the events of November 3rd my sympathy is somewhat muted.

It is not. It's due to the Peter Principle. (Interestingly, because of the election results I have some potentially excellent options next year I think. I turned down a prestigious job earlier this year because it required me to be publicly non-partisan and work with people like Ted Cruz and just no.)

(Kitty is still better and even perky, so yay! Plus both vets called to check in which was nice).

I think it depends on how much. If it’s a notable part, I’d avoid it.

Congrats on the grand-nephew-age, Steph!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

That'll never be you. Hope you have some good options until the great ones open next year.
