Our flight got canceled at the last minute.

Had to scramble to book another flight home tomorrow morning on a different airline. Maxing out all our daily credit limits.

Back at the hotel for another night. JZ was so weary and ready to go home, but at least she's back in bed and can rest until tomorrow.

Emmett took an extra night with Matilda in good cheer.

Everything was timed out and looking good and then blam, rug yanked out from under.

Bah. Bar opens at 5. I'll have a couple and come back up, but I'm more than ready to be home.

Ugh, my religious cousin (lay preacher and married to a deacon in the split off “global” Methodist church the no gays one) calling me before he calls and confronts my brother about a FB post (shove your “thoughts and prayers” up your ass).

For the record, he and I are not FB friends and I do not think he and my brother are friends so it must be his wife who said something.

So fucking awkward and unnecessary. He actually started the conversation “I think you know that I don’t agree with you and (my brother)’s lifestyle.” So my brother and I are now wondering if he thinks I’m gay or if he doesn’t agree with bitter as a lifestyle or messy or loud.

Religious cousins who don't mind their own business can fuck right off.

David, I hope you and JZ's trips in the future are less fraught with issues.

My good friend here is in hospice after almost 12 years battling cancer. I am livid that someone so intelligent, graceful, good natured, generous, kind, and loving is not going to be here in a couple of weeks. I need to work through that because she just needs love right now. But my anger stage is going to be extra long.

The Moms for Liberty are finally coming for my library. One of their ilk has convinced our anti-government county board executive (who only won his position by 14 fucking votes) to appoint her to the library board of trustees. This FUCKING CANDIDATE ran an unsuccessful campaign for school board running AGAINST CRT and DE&I. I started a letter writing campaign this week and I'm going to make a statement at the executive committee meeting tomorrow afternoon. Odds are not in our favor. I'll probably have to continue the fight at the full board meeting later this month to see if I can get 13 members of the county board to override the appointment.

FUCKING FUCK, I'm tired of fighting.

I'm definitely on the Not The Five Year Plan I Foresaw train here, both personally and professionally, two IRL friends battling cancer and another (roommate) dead, and working as a driver/helper at an assisted living, which also wasn't the job I thought it was going to be, what with the pandemic where it changed by a lot.

(That doesn't even add in the Buffista and other virtual circle friends woes. I may not speak up much here, but I'm following you all.)

At least Trump got indicted, and will have to sit through a trial -- maybe multiple trials? I can only hope.
