Our wings are not tired.

Thinking of Allyson today as she celebrates a milestone birthday. Hoping it is a joyous day and that the year to come is awesome, as she deserves.

Have a family social thing today, which should be fun. It is the far-right segment of the family, but there should be plenty of sane people and we don't tend to get political when we are together, so it is all good.

Like, no one else is masked. I kind of don't get it -

I really believed that masks would be a forever thing in airports. It will be for me!

Happy birthday, Allyson!

And I'm with you, Laura & Jen: airports and all public transit is still where I mask up.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I have a book and I'm just kind of mellow, so, all is well.

Sounds right.

Also, I will also be masking up on airplanes and airports for the foreseeable future.

If Scooby Doo taught me anything, it's that the only thing to fear is real-estate developers.Lisa Simpson

I wish someone would have suggested it before. Both my mother and I have gotten sick from a plane. Happy birthday, Allyson.

The last time I got an actual notification from my phone about an exposure (though I’m sure not the last time I’ve been exposed) was after being on an airplane. I felt a bit hypocritical since I did take it off to eat (it was a cross country flight) but I made sure it was 100% on in the airport and when boarding and deplaning since they say that’s when the air circulation is worst. I feel like I must’ve had it at some point here, though—I haven’t been masking at dancing or my recent bowling adventures…

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Quiet day here. Went out for lunch, but that's it.

I put off My Neighbor Tortoro until Tuesday evening since today's showing was dubbed and that one is subtitled. Oh no, guess that means I won't see the Shazam sequel in its first two weeks at the box office. But I'm sure Warner Bros doesn't need my money since it has a new, guaranteed success plan for the DCEU...

Happy to report that much more of my back yard than expected is coming up as clover rather than grass. I saw my first honeybee of the spring yesterday, and like the idea of my yard becoming a sanctuary for them.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I'm realizing that yesterday's sickness scare might be attributable to my having missed my meds the night before.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'm glad you had a good visit with Mr. S, Sheryl.

Totoro is a mild mood elevator for sure. As is Lilo, and Spirited Away if I have enough brain to actually engage with the story. Howl is right out as a tranq--too edge-of-seat at times.

HBD, Allyson!

Nice bee-clover yard, Matt. I love clover, although childhood taught me to not go barefoot through it.

Oh dear, Dana, I can empathize. My doc was alarmed at my thyroid levels and sent me to the endocrinologist. It occurred to me that the reason could be pilot error. I was getting up an hour early to take the pill (with a full glass of water) and then dozing until actual getting-up time, so I could eat soon after rising (No food for at least four hours before, and at least an hour after). And some mornings when there were appointments or needful errands in the morning I'd skip it entirely. Sometimes more than one morning a week. So I told that to the endo. And also, I was taking my iron pill soon after the thyroid pill. So she revised my pill-taking schedule to keep the antagonists apart, and my thyroid readings are better now. But yeah, walking away from a prescription dose because I'm hungry and don't want to wait an hour to eat is not a good practice. And skipping--or forgetting--is a good habit to get out of.
