I have one friend who hated peanuts and peanut butter growing up, but a few years ago tried some fancy peanuts in shell and decided she only liked those. But then was convinced to branch out a bit…and now she likes it, in her 30s! My bestie (who some of y’all have met) isn’t really into chocolate—she will eat it but will usually choose something else first. She’s crazy but I love her despite that.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Now I'm spiraling trying to decide if I should do something else! But someone is lactose-intolerant and there is a good vegan chocolate cake receipe.
I think chocolate and PB or chocolate and fruit would either be a solid choice. I only like PB Choc in some contexts, but I'm weird
Could you check with someone, perhaps? Maybe the lactose intolerant person, because if they don't like chocolate then that would be disappointing (my mom's friend once made a vegan cake especially so she (mom) could have it but used almond milk and mom's allergic so that was a bummer for everyone)
Yeah, good one -- I can do the cake and have ice cream with it, but not if the one person doesn't like chocolate!
Thank you all for helping me think this through!
I have trouble wrapping my head around a preference against chocolate and peanut butter (such an obviously delicious flavor combination!) but I know there are people out there who are likewise confused as to why anyone would voluntarily eat a Reese's cup, so...yeah, I don't think there is any universal "safe" flavor option.
Dairy-free is very excited about chocolate cake! Phew.
Hooray!
Everyone else can fuck off if they don't like chocolate cake, obviously.
Timelies all!
Dear head of lab, it is not the best idea to ask me for help tomorrow as I'm leaving for the day. I had to keep repeating the request in my head until I got home, where I sent a reminder email to myself.
