Hear hear.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
And I was today years old when I learned. Ha, ha! (It actually flows much better with the right emphasis.)
Right there with you, though my familiarity with the word was vague enough I don't think I've ever used it aloud.
Last night I had a dream that I was going to see a movie based on the Fisher-Price Little People toy line (the CLASSIC version, not the line they sell nowadays). The film was directed by Ridley Scott, and it was set in a castle. There was another film in the franchise opening at the same time, set on a farm. I was worried I would be confused because I hadn't seen the first film in the series, set on a pirate ship. Unfortunately, in the dream, I arrived at the theater too late, and I couldn't get in.
Well, now I kind of want to see those movies...

See, that dream is awesome.

Except that part. Dang.

The only good version of the Fisher-Price Little People.
I too would like to see these Fisher-Price movies, especially the barn one. I was obsessed with the little hayloft and would have lived in there if I could.
Vibes for Mister S and his caregiving team at the new place, Sheryl.
I have to actually go in to work today (boo) to swap out this laptop for a spiffy brand new one (yay). I'm currently concerned about removing and preserving its extremely cool stickers (fanart for Over the Garden Wall, Our Flag Means Death, Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Beetlejuice, plus one local Miyazaki/public transit mashup with an orange catbus named Mewni).
Other than that, nothing of note is going on except that I checked in with my brother who was supposed to come visit last weekend but had a weather cancellation, and he responded by asking if he could introduce me to his financial adviser, who could give us the kind of strategic advice we're not currently getting. Clearly he doesn't understand just how much work just crawling along day to day is. I barely have the spoons to renew a magazine subscription, much less interview a whole new financial advisor. I need a nap just thinking about it.

I just had to explain to a new member of my team (not my manager) why I was working from home and not commuting to the office on a regular basis. He was understanding, and I put a good face on it, but it is still embarrassing, and it will take some time to get over that.
I too have been pronouncing “desultory” incorrectly lo these many years.
De-SULT-ory. No?

Ugh, I'm sorry. You shouldn't have to explain by now.
I don't care so much about explaining; I just care about explaining to my brother, who's close enough that he should know better.
