Thank you for that, but plans have changed - Ken's been in an accident. He and Alex are both all right, but Rupert the Mini may have been totaled: Ken was picking Alex up at Sea-Tac and they were rear-ended by an uninsured driver.
Jim immediately asked if we needed him to cancel his trip, from the security line at said airport. He is such a good dad.
I am telling myself he is 35, isn't alone (Alex is a member of the Horde and a Marine, he's very familiar with concussions and is keeping a close eye on him), has insurance and isn't immediately injured. Staying calm and asking what he needs is correct action. Privately I am screaming in texts elsewhere.
Oh dear, Parker! Sending ~ma
Much ~ma for Ken and also you.

Understandable on both counts. I hope all is well.
Oh, dear, that is not how that was supposed to go at all, amyp. Definitely glad to hear no injuries and being observed to confirm that holds.
In my very much more workaday news, I finished and sent off my project, woo-hoo! Now awaiting feedback. Glad to get that ball lobbed out of my court for now.
Now I want to make some dinner and watch the latest Last of Us. That's about as ambitious as my evening gets.
It has been a sad couple of days for my northern family and community. A women I went to elementary school with came home from her daily walk over the weekend to find her husband had shot himself. She is the same age as me and super active. Hiked over 1000 miles last year in the Adirondack region, local librarian since retiring from being postmaster. Involved in all kinds of stuff including hosting my monthly book club where we snowbirds participate via zoom. Her husband, who I really didn't know, was more the sit at home and not really participate type. Her thousands of pictures of adventures with kids and grandkids rarely included him. Local conjecture was that he was upset over getting a DWI a couple of weeks ago. She and all the family are of course devastated. What do you even say? My heart breaks for her. It is just so very sad. eta: Just read the obit, they were married in 1974 just a couple of years after we all graduated high school. He was a few months younger than me.
Oh, Laura I'm so sorry for her and her family's loss. How terrible.
I’m sorry, Laura.
I hope Ken is ok, amyparker.
Timelies all!
Much ~ma for you and yours, amyparker
Oh wow Laura, how sad.
I uploaded about 100 pictures to a shared photo album, hoping my aunt can identify some of the people.
