Jeez, don't get all Movie of the Week. I was just too cheap to buy you a real present.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Apparently we are getting 6 more weeks of winter. I'm not sure what "more" means for the least wintery winter in recorded NY history, but if that's what Phil says I guess that's what we're getting.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We're supposed to go from normal temps to fucking frigid and then back to normal temps in the next 4 days.

Yeah, same. My boss was like, "I don't want you walking to work on Friday!" haha. She already thinks I'm nuts for coming into the office.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

When I read that, the first thing I did was make sure I had enough migraine meds. It's too bad no one is looking to hire a human barometer. Or, hey, it doesn't have to be traditional employment; I'd be fine with a patronage system.

I wish I weren't qualified for that sort of job. I spent Friday and Saturday with a right side migraine (I can usually keep working through those) which faded enough on Sunday that I could watch the game (go Chiefs!) then woke up on Monday with a left side migraine which made me useless for all of Monday and Tuesday.

Love one another.

Metformin (which gave me the raging trots)

My sibling in GI side effects.

I say again: Bubble wrap for all of you. I'm here and reading, but spoons are in short supply. I am thankful for each and every one of you, every day.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Triplets with the metformin GI side effects. Multiplied when my doc added Lexapro to the mix. Oy. It's in balance right now, but I spent some time in ultrasound day before yesterday, and apparently I have a bunch of gallstones, and some other stuff so I'm v. popular with the Health Clinic voice mail--endo, MRI, biopsy (we don't think it's anything but we want to make sure) and so on. Making an appointment with Endo this morning the phone person said something odd. "Did you just say 'torture naps?' something not incomprehensible after hours of awkward ultrasound positions. She cracked up. "Damn mask. The thyroid is 'up toward your neck'" giggles ensued. Gen. surg. is supposed to call soon. It's always something.

I've been reading and vibing for them what needs vibes. I'm sorry for not getting the mental waves onto the screen.

Timelies all!

Sigh...Mr. S had a major meltdown at school and ran off. The nanny picked him up and brought him home.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Quebec’s groundhog was found dead right before the ceremony was supposed to start.

That seems like a bad omen. How's Canada fixed for white ravens?

So sorry, Sheryl.

RIP to the wee dude, but what does that mean? Winter’s ending forever?

Metformin (which gave me the raging trots)

Puff of smoke. Delurks

Metroformin doesn't give me the trots, but I discovered on a weekend away that it does give me all kinds of bloating and gas. I read on a forum that people swear by taking digestive enzymes to help with tolerating it. Normally, I take them daily, but I hadn't taken any away with me, so now I make sure to always pack some.

Technically, he was a marmot. And Canada has TWO other (sometimes competing) groundhogs. And you know what? This far North, we're pretty much have six more weeks of winter no matter what the rodent says.

Hi everyone! Happy 2023. Been lurking and thinking of all of you.

More smoke. Re-lurks.
