Last time my bank called to check on me was when I was in Canada in October--I'd had a Seattle charge go through the second day after I got to Vancouver (and started my Tim Horton's and Nando's spending spree), and I guess they needed to make sure I hadn't duplicated myself or something.

Coincidentally, I just got a text message telling me there's unusual activity on one of my cards. There's no alert or message in the app and that card is actually over its limit (my clever security measure) so I'm not too worried and figure the link in the text is the actual danger.

When I worked at Best Buy and did phone orders I had to tell people who were buying from out of state (for their kids in college usually) to call their bank and let them know and then call me back otherwise the purchase might be blocked. A few people weren't happy but it looks suspicious if there is suddenly a Mac book Pro being bought in Vermont when the card is being used daily (and the same day) in , say, Oregon.

I forgot I have my self-appraisal to do - even Jess's peer reviews didn't remind me. Oops. Sadly, I would rather do my tedious and fiddly work than come up with one more accomplishment and three areas of improvement, but I'd better spend some time on that soonish

We paid a huge amount of money for a deep cleaning to be done on the house, and they didn’t do a very good job. The only reason we could even afford to do this was because of the small inheritance I got when Papa died. The plan was to get it back up to a maintainable level so that we could just have them come in once a month for a much less expensive light cleaning. I’m so upset right now and don’t know what to do.
