I feel bad for my parents because my sister is now also not coming for Christmas (she was supposed to drive). But also like…this is exactly why I didn’t want to fly to them at Christmas.
Otherwise I’m having a nice time with friends and it’s supposed to be warm enough for the pool this weekend, so I’m excited. And then I’ll head back to sad Seattle.
Are you giving Gilda the gabapentin for pain or Unhappy Kitty reasons?
Simple answer is pain. She's got inflammation of her bladder. Urine sample didn't show any bacteria but her behavior is like a UTI. When it flares up she just keeps bouncing in and out of the litter box.

I would advise those out driving in single digit or below temperatures not to attempt to roll down their car windows vigorously and discover as I did that a frozen safety glass window will shatter rather than unstick. The high winds have defeated my attempts to make a cling wrap cover, but the inconvenience hasn't made it any less awe-inspiring to hear 40mph winds rushing through the treetops on a snowy night.
Oh no, Matt! At least when my window failed it was positive 11°. I hope you didn't have to drive far and that you have covered parking!

Supposed to get down to 10 degrees tonight. Tomorrow will be in the 20s. We're already trying to figure out how to keep Mr. S entertained this weekend, what with the holiday and all, and the temperature isn't helping.

Definitely continue giving her pain relief for the weekend. Wide margin of safety and it's used long-term for some conditions. Poor kitty. I hope she's better soon.
