Oh Pix, no. I hope you manage your travels without pain or further injury. That puts paid to my own Christmas knee story. I was moving minor furniture (ottoman of bears over there, footstool of bear, booby, and biplane over here) and stepped on the hem of my pjs and went down like a felled elephant, smack on my left kneecap. DH was Alarmed, hovering, asking questions, and if you'd just wait a minute until I can quit howling in pain and get my breath back I'll reassure you, no twisting, nothing broken, nothing dislocated. Chill. Also, no getting me to the car, no ER, and no 911. Although, when I called them when I was home alone and had a drug reaction and my throat swelled almost shut, they arrived quite promptly, three very large strapping lads--my goodness, you do fill up a room, don't you? Hmm--no, never mind. I fell directly in front of the tv and all the media equipment. If I'd had another foot of space I could have caught myself, but as it was, I neither toppled nor broke anything. I could *not* roll up on the knee to stand, though, so I buttwalked over to the sofa and braced to pull myself up, and oh, here's the hysterical part--my sock was loose and I couldn't get purchase on the rug. It was like a Looney Tunes, running as hard as I could and getting nowhere. So I told the helpfully hovering husband, "Pull my sock off!" And he did, and I planted that foot and stood up, turned and sat on the sofa to catch my breath, walked over to my armchair, put my legs and feet up on the ottoman, and since we're out of frozen peas, corn, and mixed veg, spent the evening under rotating as they thawed bags of frozen tortellini. I can walk fine, no problem sleeping on either side, can drive (automatic, thank the gods), and as long as I don't fake to my left, I'm fine. Bumped the knee on the bedframe making the bed, that was a little bit of whiteout, so no direct pressure. And we have a landscape of pretty colors. But all told, I was lucky, and so was the tv. DH is recovering.
At least you were doing something athletic and fun, Pix. I mean, stepping on my own pant leg? Unglamourous.

Monday. So Much To Do! I did socialize yesterday so that was good. Today, all work, and watching Jan 6 hearing while working. Tomorrow, facial and mani/pedi.
Also, while it's not as cool as "I fell down a volcano," rollerskating still counts as a good story.

Several years back, when I sprained my ankle while building a snowman (you'd think building a snowman wouldn't be dangerous, but my superpower is the ability to injure myself in the most innocuous of situations), the way my ankle gave out made me fall down. In several inches of snow. In the front yard, where anyone peering out their window could have seen. And the thing was, the way I sprained my ankle, it didn't hurt immediately, but I knew that in about 20 seconds, the pain was going to hit, so it was better that I just stayed down until that happened. Tim, of course, wanted to help me up, but I just laid there in the snow saying "Just leave me here! Just leave me here!"
Later, he said that he really hoped none of the neighbors watched (1) me fall and (2) him seemingly ignoring me and letting me languish in the snow.

Oh Bev! What a scene. Very glad that the damage (to you and otherwise) is minor enough to already be laughing at the absurdity of it all.
Also, I have nearly taken myself out on too-long pajama legs more than one time, so I feel you.

Since I learned that I tend to have low sodium and finally found a supplement that seems to work, I've been much better at not hurting myself.
